I got to play with Fayard back in the early 2000s, as part of a tap dance review. He had an act with his wife Katherine. I'd play a baseline and he'd respond to it. Simple cues but always different from set to set.... and always entertaining. He'd have the audience cracking up, while tapping their feet.

You can try to copy their moves and do some of the same types of acrobatic movements .....that the Nicholas brothers did. Imagine what could have been if they'd been allowed to perform with white people on screen. Their last film together was 1948’s The Pirate, in which Gene Kelly danced with them. Gene Kelly fought to get them in the movie but the "Be a Clown" sequence was cut by exhibitors in Memphis and other U.S. cities in the South because it included The Nicholas Brothers. That was pretty much the end of their film career.

They were the best I’ve seen. The first routine was UNBELIEVABLE!!! Of Course, they didn’t get the credit they deserved. They primarily gave all that to Fred Astaire and the like!!

Wow; they don't come like that anymore & with such class. Wish they still made movies like that too.

The Nicholas Bros are so badass. Very few performers whose routines I can watch over and over and over again, except the Nicholas Bros. Cab Calloway makes an appearance and he's also a badass! Hep! Hep!! I love that Harold punked Gene Kelly. 😀😀
