It’s crazy to think that it’s almost been 10 whole years that CM Punk has left WWE. Although his career has had so many ups and downs, he’ll forever remain one of my childhood favorites both before and after the Pipebomb. Before with the Straight Edge Society and his ECW time, and of course, the voice of the voiceless and longest reigning WWE Champion afterwards. What a career and while he’s hated by many today, I still love him for the wonderful memories he’s given me and many others.👍

I think his feud with Raven in ROH may be my favorite feud of that entire decade. That Man has BEEN given us some top tier stuff. Regardless of what Anyone thinks of him nowadays, or honestly, even back then, There's no denying his charisma and overall dedication to creating lasting and quality memories for millions over the decades.

Punk is a strange case. He's got an ego, but it's not entirely unwarranted. He repeatedly blames other people for what happens to him, but largely because he was continually getting screwed over by Vince. Like him or not though, the guy is a damn fine performer both in-ring and on the mic.

@Matthew he was red hot from MITB til summerslam and they did everything in their power to cool him off. Move the belt to Del Rio Have punk get beat up by Nash, which never led to a match. Job him out to triple H, the miz + R Truth. U cannot argue that any of those guys sold more t shirts, had more signs in the crowd or more chants on the reg than cm punk. On top of that he beat john cena 4 times in 2011 + 2012 and every single one of those had wonky screwy indecisive finishes Mitb 2011, ss 2011, ss 2012 and noc 2012.

One more thing, about him being in the main event, he should've got it at wrestlemania 29 vs. Cena or taker. He was feuding with cena on and off since 2011 and it would've made sense to end the longest feud at the time (the one people probably cared about more tbh) at mania. Even then Punk vs. Taker is still main event material

Punk wasn’t cut to end Taker’s streak (I think nobody was) and Cena was busy getting his rematch with the rock (yes that had to happen. You can’t finish rocky 4 with drago winning) Austin was the man to put punk over. They had to get him no matter what, even if he could only give a 5 min match.

It should have been Punk vs Bryan at WM30. They were both hated enemies of the Authority and were often paired with each other against the Authority’s lackeys. It really felt like this was building up to a WM main event with both of them.

My love for wrestling died when CM Punk left in 2014. I've been watching WWE since 2001, at one point I was so done with WWE and then in 2011 CM Punk brought back the magic. Once he left, it was never the same. His AEW debut was such an AWESOME moment. Whenever Punk returns to wrestling, its a blessing. He truly is the best wrestler in the world (for me at least).

Things like Cena vs laurinaitus headlining a PPV, HHH winning over CM punk and Cena winning over Brock after his to return for 8 years. Reminds me of why my interest in WWE was at a low point during the early 2010s (2010-2012).

@@banan1as Brock needed that win. This was his first match in the WWE since 2004 and the feud with HHH didn’t really help him. They had to use Taker’s streak just for people to take Brock seriously. In summerslam 2013 not many cared for Brock. The crowd was basically behind CM punk.

@@darkundead Brock jobbing out to John Cena and Triple H was punishment for leaving WWE in 2004 and winning a court case against them thanks to the absurd no compete clause WWE imposed on him when he left in 2004. You can put it down to pettiness really. But of course he got his wins back. Squashing John Cena about 2 and a half years later and winning the feud with Triple H in the end.

Something else I wanna mention, in that same interview (I think, I've only seen 1 clip of it but I remember that "toxic work environment" quote from a video) he mentions how he told vince and HHH "how do you expect anyone to get better without giving them a shot at the main event," and I feel like that's partly what led them to give styles, owens, mox, rollins, and bryan reigns later down the road. Of course it's not the sole reason cause all those guys are amazing and deserve it regardless, but it does feel like it's worth mentioning.

To think back , it’s really freaking wired that wwe just didn’t want to push punk that hard, and just resent to give what he want. Look at wwe right now ,they are willing to suck all these second class wrestlers dicks so hard. But they didn’t want to do that to CM Punk,a wrestler as good as Cena,a wrestler that almost can say saved wwe in early 2010s. And then, wwe never find another CM Punk till now 😅

Even though he’s not my favorite wrestler, he was the one who provided my favorite match in WWE. The one against Cena on the Raw in February 2013. I knew the company treated him like crap, but I didn’t know that about his last match. When that ref said that to him, I was in complete utter shock that they really didn’t care at all. It made me see a whole new light and respect for him that he to deal with this terrible company so he could please the fans. CM Punk, no matter if you hate him or love him, you have to respect him.

I was checked out’ve Raw and SmackDown by the time Punk left as a kid only watching Mania and maybe the rumble. But holy shit, I’ll never understand why they did him so dirty. He’s genuinely a once in a lifetime wrestler, he should’ve been looked at as a living legend like Cena. I don’t really think he was ever looked at as on Cena’s level by WWE. I’m cherishing the level of respect he’s being given (onscreen) by AEW. That guy is genuinely a wrestling legend, he’s getting his roses while he can still smell them.

I didn’t realize that punk was concussed at the rumble, and that WWE’s response to get him out of it was to have Kane choke slam him through the announce table. That’s a very dangerous guy for a dude that’s already concussed because you risk the guy hitting the back of his head on the table or the floor in a whiplash. I can see why he didn’t want to work there anymore. That rumble is of special significance in my eyes, in a negative way, because of what happened with punk. Punk put in 49 minutes, that’s a very impressive royal rumble stat, just shy of Benoit and mysterio level. Honestly I was hoping he would win that rumble. And dang he seemingly came close while watching the match before being unceremoniously dumped out by Kane.

Paul Heyman called him the rock to cena Steve Austin. He wanted CM punk to beat the streak. Vince and taker agreed but they also said Phil wasn't the one to beat it. They were right. The man is downright a customer complaint box
