Yes you got the point. The point is this is not pure Martial Arts film.. its more like action-gore thriller.. why? Simply because of the director. The director's background was slasher horror thriller movie so even Iko Uwais and his team responsible for the choreograph, the director just wanna a simple brawl fight scene where the main focus is to show the audience the effect of objects to human body or maybe just killing with style and ofcourse the screaming and blood is the major element to create these horror thrilling vibes.

Julie estelle supposed to be mysterious with codename "the operator" and didn't tell whom she worked for. Timo told he has plan for trilogy though.

Great review. I agree with all your points. And I like how you mention many of the movies that the Raid cast have been in and how they were in each of those.
@TequilaToothpick Жыл бұрын
Finally watched this. It was fantastic. The final fight with Joe and Iko was absolutely incredible. Almost a match for the two finales in The Raid films. That Julie Estelle handicap match right was absolutely insane. The piano wire spots were beyond epic and so creative. It was great to see Bob get so such a great fight showcase given how The Raid 2 offed him with such little fanfare.

Ludy First Peter Berg brought Iko in for Mile 22 and did a complete disservice to him. Iko May have choreographed some awesome fights but thanks to Berg’s directing you’ll never see any of it.

@@MartialArtsFilmFreak in Mile 22 Iko wasn't choreographer so we can see the movie was bad..1-10 people's they dissatisfied for that movie.. what do you think about Mile 22?
@MartialArtsFilmFreak6 жыл бұрын
Ludy First I walked of out Mile 22 extremely disappointed. The choreography was obviously awesome but it was rarely on camera. There were scenes where the only reason I knew what happened was because I watched the behind the scenes videos.

couldn't agree more. yup the gore level is too much but the choreography is great. me too got conflicted
@AndrewInmanartist6 жыл бұрын
I will agree this movie had an overkill on the gruesome reality to when it came to being attacked with a bladed weapon rather than focus on the martial arts looking crisp and beautiful. I like that a bit more than trying to make fights look pretty and fun, because in reality gangfights being attacked and having to kill them before they kill you probably isn't pretty.
@MartialArtsFilmFreak6 жыл бұрын
Andrew Inman it all comes down to the specific style of the movie. This movie was meant to be gruesome and it did it well. West Side story is meant to be a musical and it does that well. Can’t dock a movie for doing something it sought out to do on purpose.

@@MartialArtsFilmFreak I believe we can always agree to disagree. I think Mile 22 is awesome, it's unpredictable, fooled everybody in the end. And anti mainstream, coz the bad guy won and US agents lost, big time. The main antagonist won and the main protagonist loss. In my theatre after it ended, we had standing applause

In my opinion the story is so simple, but in cinematography it is very pleasing to my eyes and the creography of silat is fking impressive with amazing beauty and deadly movement. I thing the concept of this marial art movie are realistic fight action with full body contact and also real impact. With Low budget creating amazing martial art movies. So entertain....make my fking adrenaline is cum..lol

The out of sequence format and the too long fight scene between the main characters were the only complaints that I had. The choreography was awesome. The blood clouds and spurts made my wife, who is a nurse, laugh. Enjoy your channel and reviews.

I find the fighting close to the way the fighting is in the anime show “Baki” . In real life fight to the death situation , people will use their skills but when your life comes into play , people will use their surroundings and any weapon close by which i find real
