And additional fun fact: on the very same evening, Germany scored a goal within 7 seconds, which, as an Austrian, amuses me more than the fact the record belongs to our team ;-) All of which of course doesn't take anything away from the fact that San Marino will forever stay in the history books with their 8-second goal

I'm watching this with tears in my eyes. My wife's family has a house literally just up the road from the stadium in Serravalle. I took a picture with my son in the stadium in July. I have 2 San Marino football jerseys. My father-in-law, who was born in San Marino, didn't live to see this victory. I'm extremely jealous that you saw it live. Thank you for an awesome video. I live in Rimini, the closest Italian city to San Marino. Unfortunately I didn't know about this match, otherwise I would have considered going, but on the day after, the victory was the main news on several local newspapers here. I immediately thought of Tim, I really hoped he would have been there, and he was! At this point I really wish I was there too, the stadium is just 20 minutes away from where I live

I was initially surprised that San Marino not only won their first game since 2004, it's also their first competitive victory ever, now we need to wait as it's a start of something crazy for San Marino and it will be for a really good reason. Great Moment :D San Marino Polish Fan since 95. Our national team play a lot of matches against them, once they even score and whole polish stadium was cheering. Now You should watch San Marino Baseball team, one of the best in Europe. Their stadium is just behinde football stadium.

This reminds me of watching the cubs win the World Series, me (with family from chicago) and my roommate (from chicago) were biting nails the whole game. It ended and we tore across campus screaming "hey chicago" at the top of our lungs... By ourselves because we were in texas. Fun fact about that game, the losers (the Indians, iirc) had the second longest streak without a World Series win in the league at the time, until the Cubs won and broke their 108 year losing streak.

Actually, i do kinda know what it's like. Our small high school (American) football team had a loss streak about eight years long. They came close a couple times but came up short. Finally tied a game in regulation, went into an overtime (each team an opportunity to score from 10 yards out). And you're right: even though our guys scored, that last series of downs lasted for. Ev. Er. The other team dropped a pass, and the long (well, 8 years, that's two HS generations) drought was over
