to everyone saying "this show looks exactly like greys anatomy, or "this show has been done before" You all realize that there were medical dramas before greys anatomy right? greys isn't the only medical show in the world...and the night shift is actually quite different from greys! Greys anatomy is my favourite tv show ever but its annoying when people are comparing shows...its not illegal for there to be more than one medical drama on tv !!

the night shift also show's the doctors going to the scene of an accident and showing them work outside of the hospital, in almost every episode... grey's hardly ever does that

Unpopular Opinion: I've seen Grey's Anatomy and never was a big fan. I've never really been a big fan of hospital dramas, but I came across this on Netflix and gave it a shot. I actually found myself really enjoying it and I prefer it over Grey's.

Ok, for starters, it is so annoying that people keep on comparing TV shows. I mean seriously, I am 100% sure the producers intention is not to compete with other shows, but to create good shows. Yes of course, some shows are better, others are not as good, but this also depends on people's opinions. Now moving to a clear point, it is annoying that this show, or any other medical drama that started after GA, is compared to it. Don't get me wrong, I love GA and it is probably one of my favorites, but no need for comparison. First of all, The Night Shift show is completely different, except the fact that is medical. This is an ER focused show, but with an even deeper focus on the life of an ex-army soldier. I mean this show has military people all over it: three main characters have been to the war, one of them being the partner of an military person. Secondly, this show doesn't focus on the cases nearly as much as Grey does. Yes, they have had their share of cases, but it is mostly army related and personal drama. So please, let's stop being mean and comparing things around, things/shows that shouldn't be compared. It is not like all the police shows are compared to CSI or SVU or whatever. Why don't we compare How To Get Away With Murder with The Good Wife? After all, they are both based on lawyers, right? .. :| And before judging, give them a chance, pay attention to what is actually there and don't try to look for similarities, because those always exist.

Grey'a Anatomy is the best medical drama. i cannot imagine seeing an end to it. the heavy moments of izzie leaving omaley dying derek dying and so on... those cases with a gunman in the hospital, merdieth drowning, with a gsw in th chest. just love the drama. and the bacckground narrative voice and those thoughts are just perfect.

I have really enjoyed "The Night Shift", but after being a nurse for 38 years, there are just so many things wrong and unrealistic about the show. Also, living in Texas has added to this. Two things stand out. There are no casinos in Texas. Just to let everyone know who wants to come to Texas to gamble, and even more important, nurses in Texas are not Union. We have never been on strike, and hopefully never will.

That dr choked that man out cuz he was clearly tryna punch the "west nile mosquitoe" before it bit someone.. damn they choked homie out just for tryna help. Like think about it. Just came across this series and binged watched it while I was doing a DIY project. I wanted to like it because of the emphasis on veterans, but could not suspend my disbelief long enough to stop questioning them consistently sending their surgeons who were all things to all people (social workers, search and rescue trained, addiction specialists, etc.) out of the hospital to do paramedic work. The last season was completely unwatchable. Overall, it was a fail for me.
