The night the Yankees lost the World Series to the Dodgers

Dodgers fan here, so I’ve been rewatching videos of the series these past days. This by far is the most unique video I’ve seen on it. Also by far the longest 😄 but it’s a testament to how unique it is that I watched it from start to finish, something I rarely do nowadays. Other videos are either stitched together from TV coverage, or vloggers in their studio discussing it with a few clips. Most footage from people in the stands are shaky snippets with bad sound. Kudos to you and your team for making a high quality product from onsite video. It was also great seeing the preamble and epilog. It gives a more complete experience to someone like me who will probably never get to see an MLB game live (I’m in Asia and just started watching MLB because of, you guessed it, Shohei Ohtani 😀).

Dude I was at that game and it was actually insane. People behind us were making fun of us and making rude remarks to us. When we scored all those runs they shut up and they started to cry. It was hilarious and we went to the second deck front row in the middle of the field to watch the celebration. I will never forget that moment

That game 5 series win on their home field felt like the baseball gods dealt some karma. Stay humble new york. Hold this L. Ya'll are not like us! Go Dodgers! For a couple reasons, I’ve never missed a World Series in person in my life time, I’ve been to 2017, 2018, and even 2020 during the pandemic year 🦠😷 and there was no way I was gonna miss a Dodgers/Yankees World Series! And I’m glad I got to witness that incredible Game 1 Freddie Freeman Walk Off Grand Slam!!!! Wish I could’ve been in New York to see them win it all but wow what an incredible postseason run! 🔥🙏🏽🔥🙏🏽 WORLD CHAMPS BABY!!!! 🏆⚾️💙😭 Ooh and on a side note what a year on my end for as of July 13, 2024 I have officially visited all 30 Ballparks with Detroit being my final stadium!!!!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 Only needed to do 2 this year Toronto 🇨🇦 & Detroit 🇺🇸 and even had a revisit to Yankee Stadium in June and had one final visit to the Oakland Coliseum 🙏🏽

I'm a Dodgers fan that has been living off the videos of the WS since we clinched. Today, Dec 5, I came across this one and watched all 39+ minutes of it. This was the best "in game" coverage and experience I have seen out of them all. Thank you for sharing and showing how it felt inside the stadium. I'm not a baseball fan. I'm not even a sports fan. TBH, I was looking for TMZ on Fox and actually cussed when I saw it was baseball. But I noticed that Japanese pitcher, and he was hitting. "I thought he was a pitcher," I thought. "Pitchers don't hit! Do they?" I honestly could not recall and I sat down and started watching, wondering if I was having a stroke. Anyway, it was not long before Freddie hit a friggin' grand slam, something I'd heard of but never saw before. I had to google what "walk-off" meant. It was insane. The screaming of what sounded like a kabillion fans made my hair stand on end. It was electrifying. It sucked me in, and I watched the WS for the first time ever. Probably would have watched it even if I didn't live in LA. Now I am in love with Ohtani and of course I have to buy a jersey with his name on it. God bless Los Angeles.

The Dodgers' scouting reports said that the Yankees relied on talent to the detriment of fundamentals. The Dodgers thought that running the bases with purpose and aggression would pressure the Yankees into making mistakes, and that is what happened. The Yankees' overconfidence in their stars meant that they didn't rely on practice. Seeing Judge confidently go up to a soft fly ball.... then take his eye off of its trajectory to check the runner and subsequently drop the ball was a big indicator that the scouting report was onto something. Pitcher not covering first, no backup at third when a bad throw got by and no one was backing up. I'd expect that kind of sloppiness on a rebuild team. Maybe. But the much-vaunted Yankees? Perhaps it's time they (and their raucous, toxic fans) take a step back and learn a bit of humility. Nothing wrong with supporting your team. Nothing wrong with cheering them on. Plenty wrong with booing the opposing players for no reason and throwing water bottles at the (obviously much-needed) security police who protected the field/personnel from the mayhem-intentioned drunken fans. The fans who didn't act like that (thank you) should put pressure on the bad apples (pun) that give Yankees fans a bad name. And Yankee organization? Pay attention to what went wrong, make no excuses, and require your star players to practice just as much as the rest, maybe more. While you basked in the glow of your fanbase, you forgot the cardinal rule: Murphy's law.
