The songs are really really well done and technically hard, i tried to do karaoke the "something's up with jack", i literally had to take notes and count the beats because all of the tempo and beat changes. From 4/4 to 3/4 to 7/8. It's great

I love that Chris pointed out how sad this movie was. This movie taught me that no matter how much you want it, there's just some things you'll never be able to do because of who you are and where you come from. More optimistically, do what you want! Have fun! What does Jack say when he gets shot from the sky after accidentally terrorizing the world? "At least I left them stories they can tell"😏 Favorite movie of all time

I love this movie so much. Personally though, I don't think it's about Halloween or Christmas. It's about a struggle of self-identity. When you break it down, the reason Jack pursued Christmas in the first place was because he didn't feel fulfilled with Halloween or being the pumpkin king. He struggled with the idea that that's who he was, so he tried to become something else. Perhaps it's too deep of an interpretation about a fun animated film, but still, when you break it down to the most basic elements I really do think it's about the struggle of self-identity and sometimes being unsatisfied with what the world labels us as. If you wanted to go deeper you could probably start looking into the fact that Jack is an EMPTY skeleton and his lover Sally is constantly, and quite literally, falling apart and sewing herself back together again.

Such an amazing movie!! We watch this during Halloween and Christmas. Alot of our Christmas decorations are Nightmare Before Christmas. Our whole family loves monsters and Halloween stuff, so the different Christmas approach, the creepier approach is what we love. That music though, perfection. Merry Christmas to your family.

I love the part where Oogie Boogie does a Cab Calloway dance around the kidnapped Santa Claus in his boogie man cave. Suddenly the spirit of Max Fleischer hovered about, his brother Dave directing, as Oogie Boogie's song evoked "Minnie the Moocher." how that crazy looking Santa invoked his powers as he squashed the shrunk down Oogie Boogie with the heel of his boot!

I love the darker subtext of the film. Mr Oogie boogie man is far darker the more you look at him, than any villain I think I have ever seen in a "kids" film. Sally's relationship with her creator is disturbing is perverse the more you think about it. Danny elfman singing is a true gem too

Your wife is awesome, you should do more of these with her. One thing I'd take issue with though is where she said she liked kids films because she didn't like going on an emotional roller-coaster. All the best kids films are absolute emotional roller-coasters! If you've not done it already you should do Song Of The Sea next.
