MAJOR TIP: For conveyor belt levels like level 16 in Big Wave Beach the shovel is your best friend. Conveyor belt levels have a "pool" of different plants that can be chosen from. The randomness of this "pool" is based on what you have planted on the field and the plants in the conveyor. This means by removing plants with the shovel off the field makes it more likely to recieve that plant. This works extremely well with plants that have cooldowns like chompers and bowling bulb. By removing the plants in lanes that no longer have zombies you can replace your other plants and refresh the cooldown while having a higher chance of getting said plant again in the conveyor.

Bowling bulb is kinda underwhelming in story, but it is actually one of the best plant to boost in zen garden for Penny's pursuit. It trivializes the Zomboss bossfights even on the hardest mode, completely unapgraded. The splash damage completely overwhelmes the zombie hord, and since the explosives not just defeat them but bounce off too, it's very easy to hit Zomboss with those

At higher levels they scale quite nicely as they prioritize replacing weaker bulbs with stronger bulbs (ex: at lvl 3 it regains dark blue first instead of light blue). That being said there are still far better options.

Wolfy, each bulb in Bowling Bulb has different stats. Light blue is the fastest but deals the least damage, orange is the slowest but deals the most damage, and dark blue is a balance between speed and damage. I hope this information helps you if you ever decide to use it! Edit: I seem to have sparked a debate causing division worldwide. The age-old question remains a hot topic to this day: Is Bowling Bulb a good plant? (hell naw it needs to be leveled up just to be decent)

Bowling bulb is fairly underwhelming until level 3. At that point they're pretty decently strong because they grow the medium bulb first instead of the small one. Also their plant food + tile turnip is super destructive.

Just so you know, when Big Wave Beach first released the order of the worlds were Ancient Egypt, Pirate Seas, Wild West, Far future, Dark Ages and Big Wave Beach so some of the plants that you were using didn't exist back then. That's why when the game picked the plants for you they only give you basic stuff because it was all that was available when the levels were created.

I feel like this is pretty important to know from now on: Plants are invincible for a short while when you use a plant food on them (when there's glowing light around them they cannot be eaten, shoveled by escalator zombies. or even dug up with a shovel by the player) Sometimes all you need is your plant tanking another gargantuar's hit for you to survive. You could time your plant food right before a gargantuar hits your plant and hopefully have your plant kill the gargantuar with its plant food ability. This would at best save your plant while killing the gargantuar and at worst stall for some extra time Edit: spelling

You really couldn't have done anything different at the end there. Level 16 is outrageously luck-based since you have to rely on Bowling Bulb to ricochet into the right places and do enough damage to win.

Uh, i would politely disagree with you there, i just did the level, and i won first try (with no power ups). Well, my bowling bulb is level 4, so that gives me a bit of a boost. But the gargantuar was still getting uncomfortable close to my lawnmowers. But, what i did that he (maybe) didnt do was use my plant food on the chomper to burp the gargantuars back and use the tangled kelps to damage the gargantuars

I think the high damage stat makes Tangled Kelp act like a potato mine to the gargantuars, so saving a few specifically for them might be handy. It's been too long since I played this world to know for sure though. You can try, I hope it works. Also, best of luck with the other levels.

I beat Big Wave Beach without powerups, and I'm pretty sure that on Day 16, you should always save Plant Food for Bowling Bulbs or Chomper when the Deep Sea Gargantuar comes, because Chomper's burp pushes back zombies to the 9th column

Remember that other sun producers still have uses. Twin Sunflowers are good for levels where your space are limited or you're not allowed to have a lot of plants. Sunshrooms are good for levels where you can't spend a lot of sun. Sunflower and Primal Sunflower are good for these kind of levels where they give you no time to prep and just bombard you with a bunch of zombie immediately, they produce as much as they cost so as long as they produce 1 sun, they've already pay for themselves and they can act as meatshields without costing you anything.

Bowling bulbs is a weird one. Its good when first planted, but after it fires its first 3 shots its near useless. It always regenerates its shots weakest to strongest, but if it has zombies in its lane it'll constantly just use the weakest shot. It's a plant you almost wanna either dig up after the orange shot and replant it, or one you wanna plant food to reset. Speaking of plant food, it has one of the best in the game. So good in fact that even some premiums get outclassed in arena by bowling bulbs. It's a strong plant, but also has very glaring issues that hold it back. If a level is giving you lots of plant food it's absurdly strong, otherwise it's kinda just ok.

The best way to take out gargs in conveyor belt levels like this are to either stall it in front of a chomper or use the chomper plant food, as it does decent damage and the burp pushes the garg back

A few tips: - When using Infi-nut’s plant food the wall actually gets stronger if there are more Infi-nuts in the same column. - Plants are briefly invincible at the start of their plant food effect. If you time it well, you can use a plant food to allow a plant to tank things like Gargantuar hits. Plant food will also fully heal damaged plants.

More tips for bigman: Tangle kelp can prove to be a lifesaver and should be used for both early game and tougher zombies such as octo and fisherman who both show up in the later half of bwb Rotobaga and infinut is **the** strat for this world and obviously magnifying grass is the solution to everything, sun shroom can also prove more useful than primal sunflower for longer levels Also, bowling bulb is dogshit

BWB Day 16, the level that took you over an hour, is infamously reliant on RNG as what comes out of that conveyer belt is random and Lily Pads have the highest chance On top of that Bowling Bulb is one of the worst plants in the game, if it did max damage 100% of the time it'd be alright but it constantly fires the weak Cyan bulb, also Chomper got buffed recently, add on the fact that plant leveling wasn't a thing when the game launched, plus the fact that it went from world 6 to second-to-last, meaning you have more plants when you face it, and you'll realize that what you played was the EASIEST VERSION OF THE LEVEL TO DATE

Though Wolfy's strat and RNG was pretty bad . I got through BWB 16 first try on the "hardest" difficulty (i.e when the game didn't have leveling up plants) and I withheld plant foods for the Chompers for the Gargs cause their plant food is actually pretty good. It helps clear a lane and the burp buys you a lot of time for the Gargantuar.

The main issue I see with level 16 is lack of symmetry and faith in bowling bulb. Use the Land for Bowling Bulb Only, then Use Chompers in front, followed up by walnuts. Use Lily Pads to block and stall and use tangle kelp on the gargs. Save the plant food for them as well. I did the level myself recently after watching and it worked, didn’t use a single lawn mower or power up.

Honestly Jurassic Marsh was the hardest world for me, in fact this world was actually really easy with just enough Rotobaga spam and using infi-nut to stop the fisherman zombies but I can imagine this world being by far the hardest at the time it came out. Also part of the reason Jurrasic Marsh was so hard and Big Wave Beach was so easy is just because I developed a new strategy.

In the arena is good, but in the story it sucks. Also just a small tip: Ghost Pepper also can be planted without Lilly Pads, but that's unfortunately a gemium plant that's only avaiable during Halloween.

Whenever your on a converter belt level, if you need more of a certain plant, digging up other plants of the same kind that aren’t in use will send them in the belt rotation, so if you needed more bowling bulbs, then you could have dug up the other ones that were in empty lanes etc

For the bowling bulb, I REALLY Recommend you leveling it up at least to 4 cause in the early levels the smallest bulb will ALWAYS attack and never recharge into any of the other bulbs as long as there is a zombie in there, to level 1-3, its always (smallest one always attacks first, normal, big) the, up to level 4-6 (medium attacks first, smal, big) then from levek 7 to above (biggest one attacks first, and Im not sure about the order cause I dont have it yet) Edit: also for day 13, you freaking mad lad, you know you couldve just used rotobaga for that? That was some expert plays right there man, even I used to struggle a lot on that level without rotobaga!

One strat that I found really useful in this world is winter melon, rotobaga, and space johnny. The key is to have one row of melons towards the back of the board and have several rows of rotobegas behind johnnys plant food. It’s a bit of an expensive set up but super worth it.

I don't think that it'll matter too much anymore, but Chomper is much better than before as the plant food pushes back like Hurrikale and does good damage against single targets on its own while also slighty covering its insta kill niche better with an additional instant kill before needing to chew. As for bowling bulb, the numbers of zombies usually don't get close to letting bowling bulb have its max potential, so unless there isn't a good way to get rid of specific bulky zombies, their plant food shouldn't really ever be used.

For what you're doing wrong in the conveyor belt levels: Plant everything AS SOON AS YOU GET IT. Literally the moment it begins to exist on the belt, slap it down somewhere. The difference in conveyor speed is absolutely night and day. It absolutely improves your odds of beating the level. Basically, never ever ever let them stack up at the top of the belt, it makes it go incredibly slow. Day 16 is actually a nightmare though. I recently went through it myself (and cheated with a powerup), so it was pretty cathartic to see that you struggled with it so much as well. Bowling Bulb is a great plant in concept, but when it was released it really was a let down. I think It's plant food is quite nice since it throws mini explosives that deal heavy damage. Tbh it Isn't worth using unless upgraded a lot. Only until leveled up a lot will the Bowling Bulb regrow the Orange bulb first (which is the one that does good damage).

i wouldn't say it needs to be leveled up "a lot." at level 3 it regrows the blue bulb which is already a massive buff, especially combined with the cost decrease and damage increase from leveling it

I feel like the key to that conveyor level was plant fooding the chompers. The burp pushes back zombies so the bowling bulb would've had more time to kill the gargs

Wolfy I just wanted to let you know if you use a plant that knocks zombies back like chard guard you can then use blover to instant kill them it even works with big zombies. But use the blover when the zombies are still in the air

I highly recommend using multiple offensive plants in pretty much every level, combining the powers of two is way better than just spamming one. Laser Bean + Magnifying Grass is a great example. Also bloody hell was the Bowling Bulb a disappointment. When I first used it in a Pinata Party I was constantly wiping out Gargantuars with its plant food and thought it was the 💩. But when I actually got it good god was it underwhelming.

Fun fact against the snorkel zombies: they can actually be hit by lobbing plants like cabbage and melon pult. I'm guessing that's because being underwater is classed as an environmental effect similar to gravestones and the pults are programmed to ignore them

a peashooter can't shoot a snorkel zombie because the pea would just fly right over its head. a cabbage pult can just lob a cabbage onto the snorkel zombie's head because it's still visible

fun fact. infi-nuts plant food can somewhat block octodad. while it doesn't stop him from throwing the octopi, if he is confronted with it he will be forced to eat it, so if you plant one up from where he spawns, you can block him. Like so Wolfy can see

Here's the deal with Bowling Bulb- until it reaches Level 3, it's dogshit. See, after firing all the bulbs, it regenerates the weakest one (cyan) first- but if a zombie enters the lane it will just keep firing the weak one. That is, until Level 3, where it regenerates the much better dark blue one first instead. It's plant food is cracked in arena by the way, since it basically can bounce off and splash zombies infinitely, and be boosted by Appeasemint. Oh and for the love of god, use Space Johnny's plant food whenever you can from this point on. Trust me, you WILL need it.

Use your shovel, it is extremely useful for Last Stand (and conveyer levels but someone already talked about that) Once the last wave hits and one of the lanes have been cleared, shovel up the plants for sun refund and use that sun to clear out the other lanes.
