This is one of my favorite beat-em-up games ever. I always liked the storyline of making your way to the tyrannical regime's leader to deliver a special gift to him.

Grim ending aside, if the new regime is mass producing these nunchuking ninja droids as their police force it's going to be a pretty badass evil regime.

I used to play this one all the time, despite not getting very far. It still kicks ass to this day.

I remember this game. I still have it somewhere. Probably rotting in my parents' storage shed that started falling apart 10+ years ago. What set this game apart from other beat 'em ups was the huge movesets for each character. They each had similar attacks based on controller inputs, but each character played differently. We see the large ninja here. The small, female ninja was a little faster and threw enemies fairly easily, but perhaps more slowly. The most different character was the third one. His individual attacks were far weaker, but he was far faster. He was extremely lightweight compared to the other two, manifesting as lifting throwable objects the most slowly, and being the most difficult to set up enemy throws with. You couldn't grapple into a throw just by walking into enemies like you could the other two. You had to swing a couple of times and hold a direction, if memory serves. It made the final boss fight more complex. The movesets made the game. There really isn't anything else about the game that made it exceptional.

Movesets are extremely important and Ninja Warriors nails it. It also had very good graphics, music, stage design, enemy variety and balanced difficulty. As a one player game it shits all over Turtles in Time as the best SNES beat em up. As a two player game... well failed that test. Also would have been nice if you weren't only on a single plane and could scroll vertically up or down.

A brilliant follow up to the brilliant original Arcade game. I absolutely recommend picking up both the original Arcade game and the remake of this game for your PS4/PS5.

Get to the leader, then tell him “Say your prayers” as your self-destruct mechanism kicks in. “But it’s nothing the 45 pounds of plastic explosives I lined his housing with can’t fix.” (Cobra Commander in a recording to Shockwave, as the timer that detonated Starscream’s explosives goes off, “GI Joe vs. the Transformers,” Volume 2, issue 4)

The arcade version that came out in 1987 was dope! The music was dope too.

Natsume did great work, especially with Harvest Moon later.

The entire game is about moving right, so I was just curious to see what was over there 😀

I love me a good old fashion side scroller beat em up 💯💯💯

Wait, am I imagining things or is the ending pretty much "Your programming would have made you too dangerous, so you were designed to self destruct, but science ended up making more of you anyway, and eventually the new government ended up being worse than the old dictator's." ????? O_O

Good lil' ninja-based game for what it is overall, even though I'm not a fan of the somewhat limited movement. Feels more like a platformer with beat-em-up elenents than a true one, like Streets of Rage and Final Fight are, IMHO. Also not a fan of the grim final outcome, ssdly. Still, a nice little game to kill time with with great music to boot. Keep on kicking butt, as always, my unpopular opinions on the game aside, AL.

Pretty anti-climatic for a final boss when all you get to do is use other enemies like a battering ram and smash the barrier, and a rather cliched ending where the underdog becomes even worse than the previous dictator. Still, can't believe the remake is not ported for PC

I didn't know of this game (I'll rephrase, I didn't know it was a SNES game, I thought it was an arcade game). I'm pretty jealous being a Sega guy, looks good.

It's an awesome game. Natsume released an updated version for the Switch a couple of years ago (The Ninja Saviours), which looks really cool.

Only issue with this game was that its single player only. More fun if it was two.

They added two player to the remaster "The Ninja Saviors", but both players share the one health bar.
