You also have to remember the carrot is super hard compared to your skin and flesh. So it would be way harder to cut through the glove with your hand in it as opposed to a carrot which makes all the cutting energy concentrate into one spot where cutting against your flesh squishes and therefore distributed the load more across your hand so it’s harder for the blade to get through the glove. Although I have cut things with regular gloves on and honestly most thicker fabric gloves will perform comparably to these. Granted the material is a huge factor as fabrics that will naturally cut easier are obviously at a disadvantage but tougher fabrics will do well even if they aren’t these cut resistant ones. Still cool to know they’re out there and not expensive.

I have several pairs of these types of gloves for handling sharp stainless steel parts ..grade 5 is the highest grade before cut proof ..most of them are Kevlar with a stainless steel threading.. I tried them with a razor blade . No damage whatsoever.. they are awesome gloves... great review..

Just like to point out that these are great when I move around steel in my shop, I also know guys who work with metal roofing also AC guys who make ducting wear these. Nothing is worse than a sheet metal cut. Great for picking up glass also.

They advertise them as "resistant" . I mainly got them as I have on blood thinners, so the times when I do cut myself (it is easier than you think), it is nice to have the extra safety. Still have to be careful, but I'm not bleeding anymore
