Many of you who have been keeping up with the rescue efforts are likely aware of the incredible woman in North Carolina who we have collaborated with on multiple occasions to rescue animals from terrible situations . Unfortunately, the local rescues in her area have refused to assist her, accusing her of trying to deceive them. Their reasoning behind this accusation is that she often comes across purebred dogs and designer breeds that are in need of help. However, she cannot control what animals people in her area acquire, especially when they are unable or unwilling to properly care for them.
In December, we embarked on addressing this final situation alongside her. Yes, you heard it correctly, the Grinchmas babies originated from the very same residence. Regrettably, the owners refused to relinquish the other 6 dogs residing on their property, and once again, the local animal control disregarded the numerous complaints and reports. However, starting this week, we are stepping in to rescue these animals, enabling me to conclude this final case with a clear conscience, knowing that no more puppies will be subjected to these dreadful conditions.
Unfortunately, there is a downside to the situation. Following the departure of the Grinchmas puppies, another litter of 8 puppies were born. However, it is disheartening to learn that our rescue partner received an alert stating that the puppies and their mother had been placed outside in a wire crate by their owner THE NIGHT BEFORE. By the time our partner arrived at the location, it was too late for two of the puppies, as they had succumbed to the harsh conditions without any access to food, water, or shelter. The relentless wind and rain proved to be too much for these innocent souls. Thankfully, our kind-hearted helper acted as their guardian angel and swiftly brought them to her home. Once there, she provided them with nourishment and a warm bath to help them recover. As expected, the poor puppies were infested with fleas, but their guardian angel will ensure that they receive the care they need.
The arrival of these adorable little ones is scheduled for Saturday, although we are currently in the process of finalizing their transportation arrangements. Unfortunately, the most affordable quote we have received for this endeavor amounts to $385. Upon their arrival, all of the adult dogs will require various essential procedures such as vaccinations, heartworm tests (with potential treatment), microchipping, fecal examinations, deworming, grooming, and a few may even require dental care while they are under anesthesia for their spay/neuter surgeries. As for the puppies, they will need fecal examinations, microchipping, deworming, and vaccinations to ensure their well-being.
We are expecting a dozen dogs (6 adults and 6 puppies) to arrive this Saturday, which happen to be the last remaining dogs from the same property where the Grinchmas Puppies originated. These dogs are in dire need of grooming services as they have been exposed to harsh weather conditions outdoors for quite some time. Prior to their grooming appointments (already made with our groomer), it is essential for them to receive their vaccines.
Next week, they will begin their vetting process, which will incur an average cost of $200 per dog (just for initial exams, vaccines, microchips & diagnostic tests). As a result, I have set a challenging goal for myself - to raise $2,000 in order to alleviate a significant portion of their initial veterinary expenses. It may seem like an impossible task, but I am determined to make it happen for the well-being of these animals.
If you are willing to help out with their transportation, veterinary needs, or daily care, please don't hesitate to utilize any of the methods provided.
🙏 We may not be the biggest rescue organization, but our goal is to have the greatest impact on the animals that are often considered "undesirable" or "disposable" by others. We deeply value every donation we receive, and it's worth mentioning that all contributions are tax deductible.
