Great captures again. Though I do laugh whenever I watch Jawtooth and see the length of their freight trains over in the USA...
@antman09ful1 Жыл бұрын
Yes the length of them is ridicules they just keep on coming.
@nigelarmstrong252 Жыл бұрын
Yes they have some very long trains over there, double deck too but mainly 1 or two an hour where we could have many more. We also have much shorter sections for signalling and 1000x more passenger services to allow for.

Great video, and as you say, the North London line is a great place to watch slow moving freights !

Excellent Mike, that NL line is so busy. Great to see the 90s in action too. Enjoyed this video

Thank you, I always enjoy filming on this line, but there is only one toilet.

The North London was a real artery for freight, trying to get them to run in amongst the passenger services must be a nightmare. Super video Mike, well done 🤓

Very true Tony, if something runs late that it for everything. Cheers Mike.

I used to work for NR Anglia when the enhanced NLL passenger service was introduced, put 2 freights between a pair of Overground services , expect a phone call from Swiss Cottage (Overground Control). Freights, especially incoming, could be difficult to path as sometimes they were hours late.😊
@antman09ful1 Жыл бұрын
I bet it is still a nightmare, cheers for the comment.

Super video Mike with great footage. I have just finished editing my own video from London filmed a week before you were there so I'll hold back a few days before publishing. Take care mate, Colin.

Oh yes a good idea Colin, I will watch it with great interest where you did your filming, its such at busy line at certain times. Hope you get a dry day today.

Great captures, looks like a great line for filming freight though I don't envy the signaller trying to slot in this much freight amongst all of the commuter services

Oh yes a very busy line, that is why I enjoy filming freight trains on this line as they have to fit in between the passenger trains.

Great stuff. It must be a struggle to slot these freights in between the stoppers but a busy and crucial route for intermodal.

Nice, I was down there on Thursday just gone working 4E26 from Willesden Jn, it came into Willesden once the Overground train to Stratford had departed, but I’d caught it up by Finchley & Frognall even doing just 30mph.

@antman09ful1 Жыл бұрын
I've double checked Arnold on tops for that day and another day and it says 4M47 LGW to Hams Hall. It was my mistake putting a L instead of a M But you was right at the start that I was wrong with the head code. Nice one Mike.

Fantastic mate. Great viewing. Some great shots Mike. What's speed limit around there then Mike?
@antman09ful1 Жыл бұрын
I would say around 10 to 15 mph from Gospal Oak to Willesden Pete, thank you for watching. Mike.
@S2RUF Жыл бұрын
For most of the route between Willesden Jn and Gospel Oak it’s 35 for freight, 45 for passengers, but at Gospel Oak Jn it’s 20mph through the station and at the junction towards Crouch Hill. When the passenger trains are running I usually run at about 20-25mph as you end up catching up the passenger trains as they stop at every station.
@nigelarmstrong252 Жыл бұрын
Nice video, shame they're nearly all 66s. That said, railways near me were all lifted in the Beaching massacre so I'd be glad of anything !

@@antman09ful1 Good content is always appreciated. Long gone are the days of a 56 on MGR through Retford or even doubled headed 20s.
