On the old pay model, I could make up to $30ish an hour on a really good night, but was probably more around $25/hr. Now days I'd say its a steady $20/hr sometimes going up a couple dollars but also commonly going below. Edit: I also live in the bay area and plan my shifts out for the most popular times/days

I have very much the opposite reaction, I can't get to sleep because there's constantly something to make me laugh. Not that that's a bad thing, I just learned it the hard way thinking I could put on a VOD noncommittally and doze off to it, then all of a sudden it's 3 hours later and I'm wide awake when most people are just waking up.

Egg, the thing with sick leave you wanted to implement.. thats the standard in the germany healthcare system. you go to the doc, he give's you a piece of paper saying you get X days of, depending on the illness. The employer has to give you paid sick leave. and if your illness is very severe, you can get a near infinite time of paid sick leave, even during rehab or anything.

3 or sometimes 4 cars for a family of 5 is definitely normal. Two for each parents, so they can go to their jobs, and one or two for the young adults, so they can go to college and work. We're 4 right now in my house. We got 2 cars, and it's fairly annoying. We're constantly under pressure to hurry up back to the house cuz another member needs a car.
