Some of the dates are estimates, as most of the time The Chronicle of the Kings of Norway only tells us the season during which the events happened.

>sail from norway to the mediterranian >mess with the spaniards on the way >spend the holiday season in italy >arrive in the middle east >fight once >go to Constantinopel and throw party with the king >have such a blast that i gift him my fleet >ride home on me trusty steed maybe the real crusade was the friends we made along the way

Never seen someone include path of ships in a crusade video before. Great work .

I'll do that when it's the main focus of the crusade. For example, in the next crusade I'm doing (the Venetian Crusade) I will be showing the Venetian fleet because it's the focus of the crusade.

This was very cool to see. Kinda funny how the "Crusade" was basically one battle, and most of the entire expedition was just messing with Muslims on the way over.

The village of my grandfathers is 30 km from the Western Black Sea coast of Turkey. at distance. His village was founded by mercenaries from Scandinavia.Usually ships from Norway and Sweden are in this period. These soldiers reached the Black Sea by using the rivers in Russia and later founded Safranbolu Yazıköy (Jazi Joy). Later, their families also settled here. They served as mercenaries to the Byzantine Empire. After 1924, most of the village migrated to America and Australia.

Why is the region called 'Cilicia" only? It was the Armenian Kingdom during this time and I'm quite sure they were an active ally during the Norwegian Crusade, just like they were during the first and third.

Yes it was indeed the Armenian Cilicia, but as for the others I simplified the names so they wouldn’t take up much space. During the First Crusade the Armenians were allies of the Crusaders, during the Third Crusade they simply let them pass through. During the Norwegian Crusade they’re not even mentioned doing anything, the only thing that involves Armenians is an event where Baldwin Le Bourg wanted to transfer some Armenian peasants on the eastern side of the Euphrates but they were attacked by the Turks while crossing and killed. Also, the Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia is not a Crusader state, in fact they would even fight to take over the lands on the Cilician Coast belonging to the Principality of Antioch.

They had bad relations with the pope because of all the things they had done, so they were the first to answer the Pope’s call to war and fucked up the muslims (and they raided christian lords in northern spain for the heck of it)
Can we STOP the THIRD CRUSADE in 1184AD
