It’s quite sad actually cause the Incredible Hulk is the only film I can think of in the MCU where, yes, it’s story may have been very weak overall but at least its tone was wayy different than all the rest. It was more serious, dark, and hulk was actually kind of scary. The transformations looked painful, winter soldier is the only other film I can think of in the MCU that had a similar tone, but not quite as dark.

Random fact: You can actually play as the Red Hulk in this game... if you bought the Gamestop exclusive version that has the character skin on disc, no DLC required. You have to do the Harrison Ford voice yourself though.

I used to play this and Hulk: Ultimate Destruction a lot as a kid. However, there was always something that felt off when it came to the movie game vs UD, and I think I know what it is: the weight and sound of the attacks. With the movie game, it just feels like the punches and attacks against enemies lack a lot of oomph and they sound like either meaty twacks or tapping on metal. Not to mention the TTK for the freaking hulk busters and just the general movement feeling alot slower and clumsier…compare that with UD, where every attack had a very nice booming sound effect to it and defeating enemy vehicles had very satisfying crunching and breaking sounds. Obviously, if you hit a tank with just your fists, it’s gonna sound weak, but get the right move or weapon and it’s so satisfying.

It feels like this game was trying to be a “remake” of Hulk Ultimate Destruction but being held back being just another movie tie-in at that time. It was much of the same types of mechanics. If someone wanted to just remaster Ultimate Destruction, I’d be totally fine with that. I still have my copy from when it originally came out. That game was insane.
