Quick, simple, poignant. The film was a brief emotional ride. I enjoyed it. The couple at 1:13 is probably not needed for the story. Thanks for sharing. Best of luck!

Disagree about the couple. It reinforces the (false) belief that our guy is a bit of an outcast, and makes us wonder whether he might go there every day to wait for a (possibly random) girl to show up.

I understood it as the explanation of why she was dead. It was the girl he was waiting for, passing by with a man dressed in black all over, we don't see his face. The redhead guy was waiting for her but on her way to the picnic she got kidnapped, dragged along past him and later killed - hence the grave scene. And he did not question why she did not come over, did not protect her, did not alarm anyone.
