They all killed this! Period. One of greatest rap songs ever hands down.
@alfredmcglothen6050 Жыл бұрын
Agreed!!!! Definitely. Biggie and Bizzy knocked their’s out in one take . Can’t believe Biggie matched Bone’s style and actually bested them with it . This showed in my opinion, he was definitely the G.O.A.T. I loved PAC as well , but as far as who was the best lyrically, and had the best presentation, hands down Biggie . PAC was more a storyteller and Poet . Big was a flat out lyricist.
@Keezie27 Жыл бұрын
@@alfredmcglothen6050 I agree. Crazy how Big switched up his style to match Bone Thugs. I agree Pac was a poet and storyteller but I'd easily put Biggie up there with him in regards to storytelling. "Juicy" for example is the perfect song about going from rags to riches. Amazing storytelling. "Warning" is another example of Biggie's talent as a storyteller. Almost the entire "Ready to Die" album is an example of great storytelling. He was able to paint vivid pictures with his lyrics. That album was like a movie on wax. Biggie was a great storyteller.

@@E.ternalBTNH99 Man, I keep hearing this. I am now going to have to go check it out. I really didn’t even know that he had a new album out. I have been out of the loop, so to speak, when it comes to rap. I suppose I just kind of gave up when all this new era stuff started coming out and you can’t understand half of it. Not all of it is that way but a lot of it is nowadays. I actually listen to most all genres of music. I don’t do classical or religious music. Now, don’t get me wrong, I can listen to classical music, as it doesn’t bother me, but it’s just not my go to when I have unlimited content at my disposal. And I am not a religious person, at all, so that knocks religious music out. But anything else I can, and mostly do, definitely listen to. But I am definitely going to head over and check out his new stuff. Thanks for the recommendation. Stay strong and keep your head up, my friend!!! #ONELIFE #ONELOVE

This track is awesome on so many levels. The four main verses are progressively faster and more violent, and follow down the chain of command in a typical street gang. Biggie talks about earning money, drugs, and womanizing - he's the captain/leader. Bizzy escalates that to substance abuse and cleaning up after criminal activity - he's the lieutenant. Krayzie ratchets it up to threat of violence and illegal armament - he's the sergeant. And finally, poor Layzie is the footsoldier on the front lines of the gang/turf wars, and he's the only one who has to personally deal with the act of murder (REDRUM), since everyone above him is only concerned with trash talk. P Diddy couldn't be more right when he admonishes Biggie "you know not what you do." (Gang leaders often don't appreciate the full impact of their criminal activity on their neighborhoods and communities.) He's on a higher level than Biggie, he's transcended thug life and become a rich media mogul, and plays God here.

My favorite song after all these years!!!! I remember being in 6th grade(I’m 35 now). I was babysitting one day and I sat there with a tape cassette radio pausing it to write down the lyrics for Biggie’s part😂🤣! Bought the cassette single for like 2 bucks at Peppermint’s in our mall! True fan right here🙌🏾🙋🏾♀️

This was an instant classic when it dropped. So many layers to this track. Love the fact that Biggie switched up his flow to match with Bone Thugs.

For those who doesn't know, Biggie was inspired by Btnh fast pace style and wanted to incorporate it on this track. Tupac, Eric,and others couldn't mastered it. These guys are legends/MC's for adding harmony to hardcore rap. All authentic.

Apparently Bone Thugs spit their verses first and then Biggie studied how they did it and he successfully adapted his unique style to their flow. Amazing artists all of them! Really encourage people to watch Krayzie's interview and how this all came together.

Hasan Tawab in some parts of bizzy verse he is talking about the end time prophecy by using words like: "my messiah better get ready for armagedon, triple six = 666, shit expired & bless the child the ONE (Elohim/Christ) became a man, etc. Also, in the rap Bizzy pardons Martin Luther king cause in the last days there will be fighting & we know Dr. King was against fighting. You can google who wrote the lyrics and whoever wrote bizzy verse knew a lot about the bible. Lastly, bizzy does not say, "open and let them see we're real" he said, "open that last seal for real" which is in reference to the end of the world.
@HatTheFatCat9 жыл бұрын
Zaddy Prince Maybe so. I know Bone Thugs have a lot of biblical references in their raps, especially in the 90s. I agree with your interpretation of triple six and Messiah bits, but Bizzy isn't pardoning Dr. King. He's asking for forgiveness, because he's about to engage in violent activity instead of nonviolent protest ("we ain't marching, we shooting"), and he knows MLK would disapprove of that.
@zaddyprince14519 жыл бұрын
exactly bro!!!!! pardon means Forgive.

First off Biggie fkng kills it seriously. Like holy shiit, the man put all his energy into wanting to match their type of flow and sound. They all KILL this song. Bizzy is on fkng fire, the man is incredible, he is the tightest, off the charts rap flow, with the most unique voice. They all are. I feel like Layzie never gets enough credit. His flow is phenomenal, and i love his sound and style in every song. I love all of them. All so different from one another, but blend together in perfect harmony. Best rap song of all time. Thug Love is another killer one.
