Pac has a similar story to 50 cent: he was a mediocre rapper with zero notable verses or lines who got shot, then as a result of the media attention he starts working with Dre and suddenly he's selling crazy numbers which gradually decline. Tupac can only succeed in another era if someone shoots him in that era and then Dr Dre agrees to sign him.

It's a shame that he was a lot safer selling drugs in the winter in Brooklyn than leaving a party in Beverly Hills. Almost 26 years later I'm still wondering why they did the album rollout in California as opposed to just staying in New York. I was nine years old at the time and MTV said he would be in California for a MONTH. When I heard that, my heart sank. Everyday that went by I hoped and wished they didn't kill him. I was relieved every day I didn't hear anything until that fateful Sunday. Broke my heart. Looking at this footage they were genuinely appreciative that he came in. Biggie even asked if the guys were coming to his listening party. I can't imagine what the crew thought when news of his death came out. Right here in this video they all had a beautiful moment with him but they didn't know this was the last time they'd ever see him. It is pretty special and sad that this is likely the last public interview he ever did. I saw a short clip of JV years ago that they were all shocked when he died so soon after. I always wondered if Biggie was really gonna come back and do that song for them. I personally believe he forgot after he left the studio. What happened to Lance after this? He had a job and then he kinda didn't. I don't even know what his role was in Biggie's career. I hate the fact that Biggie's killer is doing Lord knows what that day and he's going to commit this terrible crime in days. Biggie wanted to watch his children grow and within days he was gone. Sad.

Seeing and watching this interview with Biggie makes me sad, because he was looking forward to bigger and better things in his future and was bettering himself, and he was a cool person. But then come 3/9/1997 he gets gunned down and killed, and this interview was 4 days before his death. I think had Biggie not went to California after his mom told him not to go, he probably would still be alive today, and him going to California was a bad idea. From this interview right before his death, Biggie talks about what he was planning on doing in his future and he talks about his 2nd album "Life After Death" that was about to be released at the time, and everybody was just enjoying his company. There's even a young girl who talks to Biggie and she tells him that she loves his music. This interview even shows Biggie being nice, sweet, generous, kind, and friendly, and that's what makes him cool. He even says how he would love to see his 2 kids grow up, and it's also good to know that he was no longer the same person or as violent like from when he first came out as a rapper. Biggie had changed his lifestyle at the time of this interview, but it's still sad knowing that he's not alive and was gunned down and killed for no reason, and Biggie could have still been alive today. But God bless him.

This is a hard interview/video to watch because I believe this is his last interview before he died or one of the last. Cause at the end the person asks him what he’s planning for his future in rap. And the response he gives is just heart breaking…that he just plans on continuing to make great songs and to do it with his best friend Cease. That’s not exactly what he says but I have a hard time watching it cause it’s so sad cause he has no idea he was going to get shot and die over there.

I remember seeing the news about both Pac and Bigs killings. It has always given me an eerie feeling. I do have a feeling that Pac could be around. But Big is gone - they are both so much larger than life. I still and always will listen to and enjoy their music. They are the modern day martyrs, poets and all inbetween. ❤
