I know you might find that hard to believe but social media changed the behaviors of people in so many ways. The world was less strict in a way. Hard to explain but neighborhoods were filled with kids outside. You lived more in the moment. I’m gonna sound old here but me and my boys had a tape recorder(cassette) to capture us doing stuff lol! There was music stores to go hang out. Damn things done changed in 25 yrs. Beepers came out and we were like why do I want someone to get ahold of me while I’m out. My favorite biggie song will always be “RESPECT”. I’ve gone back and listened to all his stuff over the years but nothing will ever come close to “RESPECT”. I believe it’s his best. That beat, that hook the realness was life for any hood boy growing up listening to it. The most underrated song of all times. I’m Puerto Rican and although I will say Big Punisher was more lyrical I still say biggie was the greatest. It’s a shame we didn’t get to see his full evolution in the game because his life was cut short. It broke my heart writing that last sentence. 👑

@@jlntpy1706 that’s not why. Lyrically he was that nasty with it. I don’t put DMx up there cause his lyrics were basic and repetitive. Pun was a very versatile rapper who could do it all from anywhere underground to the mainstream. I actually didn’t like him when I first heard him. It took a while cause I wasn’t feeling him at first but like all the others I gave him his chance. He didn’t disappoint.

At 25 he just started his career, also he was a pioneer in the genre, he could have been massive! He is still the GOAT in this genre, pure street stuff and real, day to day life struggle, top level poetry and beats, musicality... It's a pitty he got shot. Respect the King of N.Y.
