Today is my dad's birthday. He was killed in 01 and this was his favorite song. So I play it every year for him. HAPPY BIRTHDAY dad. It's that time again. And last night dad they thru us a surprise birthday party. I'm sad and happy because you were killed at this age and now I've out lived you. You'd be proud. I own a store, I've written children's books. I've been on TV and in magazines, radio. My books are in libraries. I'm proving that sky is the limit and I am flying.

I'll say I'm a bigger fan of 2Pac than Biggie but, when it comes to something to listen to at night or by myself or just to chill and feel good...... Biggie gets the nod. This beat is a good example of the spots biggie hits on the regular that others can do but, there's just something special about his ability to cut through to the soul. Im 38 so I grew up with this era of music and just can't get into the newer stuff so I just keep listening to this stuff and that's just fine with me.

Man I didn't know this song until highschool but that was me when i was a kid people talked crap everyday my closest friends would roast me at school everyday and i never got into fights because i thought id kill somebody...but i just took it because i saw their struggle even if noone else and knew it was a cover. I had one pair of red ass filas that people gunt everyday and two shirts and some track pants i would just switch the shirt and i never had underwear until i could work so i just used my gym shorts. he say you wanna see the inside ill see you later i never had anybody come over especially a girl so i didn't date because my mom is a hoarder and we had so many roaches when you come in and turn on the lights 100s of them scatter and we all used to stomp them. it grossed me out and sometimes theyd even crawl out of your bag in class and you just try and play it off or kill it immediately. it was so horrible. that's what its like. I wanted to be that bully sometimes like he claimed to be but luckily i grew up in evanston not the west side or south side of chicago cuz i wouldve kilt a lot of people or they wouldve killed me.

I am a die hard biggie fan and always when I listen to his music I can just imagine what it has been like to live in brooklyn at 80s-90s. The feeling is just so special and no other artist has ever gave me that feeling. I can't really explain it but yeah. I was born in the year of 2003 in Finland so I have literally no experience in anyway of "gang life" or anything like that and I am very saddened by the fact that I couldn't ever witness biggie live. But yeah I dont think anyone really cares about my story but I just needed to write it down as this song is so good. If u actually read this, thank you for spending your valuable time to this Edit 6.5.2022: Never did I expect this comment to "blow up" and to get so many interesting replies, thank you for those. I just wanted to specify that Im not "admiring" the gang life or nun but instead extremely interested that how does it feel like to know that any second someone may come around the corner and just start shooting. Other thing is what I already mentioned earlier that I would pay any amount to just see Biggie perform live, and also I am interested to know yall's favourite biggie songs so leave them in the comments below also. My favourite is Unbelievable. The beat is so perfect and Biggie changes his flow so many times in that song, It is a masterpiece as are many other biggie songs. Whoever is reading this I hope you the best of a day!!!

From what my dad has told me its like walking home from school dodging shootouts and drug addicts just trying to get home. Then you get older and your friend picks you up in their car and once u get in u find out its stolen. Getting into a fight by 3 get home by 4 smoke an L come back out and your bike got stolen. Then u get a call that ur friend got shot. All in 1 day. So much BS

I was hanging around with friends in the streets, drinking and smoking and the best thing that could happen back in those days was a hood brawl. Nothing to see..... In the nights, I used to play this song and dream on anytime when we where drunk.... years later I took all my courage and went back to school with 21 and now, Im about to become a teacher. 2pac and Biggie helped me on this hard path. I believe that there are more examples out there, their life was not wasted, I´m sure, their message reached a lot more than me.
