With his current play, it doesn't seem so. But he is an integral part of that team and it's best to believe he'll play better in the future.

Short Answer: Yes he is, most players in the post 2nd apron era are worth their money, especially if they are homegrown, you couldn't get an adequate replacement for him that wouldn't cost you a similar amount compared to his playoff production.

Except now they wont be able to pay their role players consistently, so a team on the caliber of the 2023 champions is NEVER coming from them again

He is worth every penny. The team digressed when he was gone, and as soon as he came back, even while still dealing with lingering effects of his injury, they immediately became NBA champs. People can say what they want, but he's a very important part of the Nuggets team, that was one of the main driving force to their road to the NBA championship

I mean it's true. Jokic basically hard carried the team in 2022 without Jamal and MPJ. But unfortunately as great as he is, he can't carry the team alone during playoffs. It's frustrating to see that the Nuggets are wasting Jokic's prime. Hoping he'll win at least 1 more ring cause honestly I feel like he won't even renew his current contract once it's up. He's gonna be 30+ then.

Worth is relative to the market itself and the Nuggets didn't really have much of a choice. Some other team would have paid him if the Nuggets decided to let him walk. Every NBA team will go through this reality eventually.

Murray stocks weren’t that high especially after the Olympics. I think it is an overpay.

Who would pay him a max to a guy who never even led his team in points or assists and never made All-Star? Some people are overhyping his abilities to carry a team as a second option. He can't even lead his team's second unit that is consistently ranked at the bottom of the league.

Murray will be good until his early 30s, I think. He might still have a career year and make an All-Star team. Denver letting KCP walk was a major loss though.

I doubt he'll make an All-Star. He has never played more than 65 games in his last five yearsrs. Plus, he is not as consistent even in the playoffs as people think.

Honestly? They didn't have any choice. There's no other players with the same skill set that's available to be picked up. Right now all the Nuggets hope Jamal will perform better in the playoffs. We see Jokic is still Jokic and can single handily carry a terrible shooting team in multiple games. But it's not enough. Still got ptsd with the missed open 3s in that playoffs. His performance in the Olympics was terrible. So Jamal better prove himself. Otherwise he'll be lumped with the likes of Beal that basically finessed a franchise.

They paying him for the playoff performance, he can just basically float through the regular season if it means he’ll be healthy for the postseason. In the playoffs though, healthy Murray and Jokic will beat anyone, totally worth it

Murray is awesome but in no way is he a Superstar. Even mediocre players get Max Contracts today. I don't understand it anymore so I stopped watching it.

MPJ is way more overrated. rid off MPJ and they will have flexibility of having 3 depth players to compliment this team.

Im a fan but after his playoffs and his abysmal Olympic form definitely not. If he can find his form from their championship run then sure. Rooting for him but it appears his body can't handle the rigours/ demands of the NBA

The problem with his stats is that he'll go 12-14 when the nuggets are getting blown out and then 2-16 in an overtime loss. The averages look great but he's so inconsintant and unreliable. With that being said, if Bubble Murray is still in there somewhere... I can't wait to see it again.

Absolutely NOT - highly inconsistent player, can not be relied on.. not worth a max contract anyone who says otherwise just doesn't watch the games.. side note Jokic is about to turn RW into a beast again.

Jamal Murray is so WAY OVERRATED that is nauseating. Next to Jokic, even a used, wet towel looks like a player. Jamal was schlepping/free-loading on that FOREVER. No. He's NOT worth the max. Who Jamal Murray is REALLY -we saw in Paris, and before - in EVERY game w/o Jokic... In those games and minutes - Jamal shows who and what HE REALLY IS - a low-mid PG in NBA, probably not a starter in most NBA teams.

@@usmaanqureshi9102 he can't "walk" as he's still under contract. Also, Nuggets can still TRADE him till end of mid season. As a player - he's not worth the max. Given the circumstances - he's still not worth the max. Not even close.

Not many wet towels shoot 3s on 41%. He's not worth the max, in my opinion either mostly because of the injuries, but he still isn't even Denvers worst contract over KPJ, who is like their 4th attacking option and also huge injury risk.
