Hi Russ, Thankyou. Beautifully set out supermarket as you pointed out, all labels in line price tag's correctly placed, but no customer's? Australian tourist's usually eat out as food is so cheap, hotel's have good restaurants, also. Perhaps it's too expensive for locals? Great posts PS I noticed the Chicken place, have exposed open running gears to drive the rotisserie, right at the entrance to the shop, YIKES!!!

Just FYI - Luwak Coffee is allowed to be brought into Australia however, it has to be roasted, commercially packaged, cannot exceed 1kg, and is for personal use. I am planning to go and if I like it I want to bring some back so when I heard you mentioning its not allowed in Australia, I had to look it up ;-)

I got to give you credit for spending time in Bali supermarkets after being cooped up in freezing Russia. I'd be soaking up the sun, or other kinds of tourist attractions. However, it was interesting. There doesn't seem to be as many prepared meals in Bali supermarkets as there are in Russia. I'm guessing, Bali merchants took a huge financial hit during the COVID lockdowns.

Bintang supermarket been there for years but did get burnt down. So it has been Rebuilt. It’s for the tourist and not really a Balinese shop. The location is actually in Seminyak. You can bring in the coffee into Australia as it’s commercially sealed

The 1st thing that surprised me is the number of items in English.The 2nd was the meat pies, yummy would I like to try one of those! The store shelves are so neatly and fully stocked and they aren't messy either. Nappies are diapers here in Canada. When it comes to citrus I found out that "don't judge an orange by it's peel" applies. The sweetest juiciest orange I've ever eaten was in Trinidad and it was green, yellow looking and the peel was covered in scratch marks so those mandarins that you showed may have been really good. The first Transmart looked really old and ready for restoration. How on earth do those stores ever make any money? That's eerie without shoppers.

As far as i know bintang is still owned by heineken, even since colonial era it's brewery was east indies Heineken and then in 1950s all of dutch named brand was nationalized and renamed it to bintang because of the star logo, but i dont know why Heineken still sell Heineken and bintang brand in one country

Hey Russell, thanks for the video. There are some people who do Airbnb‘s and vacation rentals in the United States and elsewhere and have rented places with kitchens and go out and do the grocery shopping and don’t mind cooking so even though you’re having a wonderful time and eating on the beach and all that there are still some places where people don’t mind cooking on a vacation And renting a villa or a vacation home in Myrtle Beach or other places and don’t mind cooking a little something something but they also can mix it in with going out to eat sometimes as well. However, I was thinking if someone is visiting Bali Indonesia, the last thing you want to do is cooking as there are hundreds of street vendors selling ready to eat delicious food very cheap and very delicious ! Too many things to do in Bali to be at the Airbnb cooking ! Same for visiting Moscow Russia... Don't want to waste time cooking when there are so many things to see and to do !

This is because Russia is not geared to offering all inclusive. Regarding Asia, most tourists love the freedom to go out and find different food from street vendors and markets....and the food is really delicious and cheap !

Fascinating, Bali is one of the few places in SEA I’ve not been to, but if I did, I’d probably not think to do videos western style supermarkets. I’d probably be distracted by the people, the scenery and temples and such…I see now, be I’d be missing out on so much.😀

ответ на ваши вопросы: Супермаркеты являются частной собственностью. Это незаконные видеоролики на частной территории. Другая причина в том, что клиентам не нравятся люди, которые снимают их на видео, и тогда они будут на KZbin. Важно соблюдать конфиденциальность. Что касается путешествий в другие страны: всегда интересно побывать в других культурах и увидеть, как они живут, попробовать разную еду, увидеть разные вещи, почувствовать другой климат! У меня была русская девушка из Новосибирска около 7 месяцев в 2019 году. Она приехала ко мне в гости в Австралию. она любила еду, теплый климат и пляжи!

Same here - cant live a week without a kitkat - love them with coffee or tea - there is really nothing can replace them - they either too soft or too sweet but not exactly like kitkat which is perfectly done - and the flavors can be as wild as a japanese green tea and all the way to sweden crepes - delish!

​@@KimoBruddah-ki2ooSorry, but the truth is that our supply chain for fresh fruit is not fresh in the majority of the outer limits of larger cities. We receive nitrous-oxidized fruit. Sometimes these FRESH fruits are asleep for 3 weeks to a month at a time before they hit the table. There is no vitamin value in such fruit and vegetables, as most lose their vitamin value after three days. Buy fruit and get it home before it wakes up from cold storage, so you think you are eating fresh, but it is far from fresh. I just bought three avocadoes for a staggering two dollars each that are two days old. I had been busy and did not eat them, and now they are bad and mushy, so I threw them on my garden. Try again, sport on your calling me a comrade. The United States hasn't been the best country to live in as of late, but I will take it over China or Russia any day. I happen to watch Russell, not because he is a propagandist for Russia, but because I am interested in the food supply chain of the world market. It is one of my pet peeves in the US, our spoiled, rotten fruit and vegetable supply chain in many parts of the country. Wonder why the citizens of the US are fat and constantly eating? They eat constantly due to "Low nutrient levels in the appetite center of the brain can trigger a ravenous appetite and uncontrollable cravings!" The truth hurts, but it will make you healthier in the long run! Be blessed!

@@capitainebonhomme1609 I live in the appalachian rust belt. The deeper a person goes into the countryside the less fresh produce is at grocery stores. It is sad that xbox and playstations have replaced gardening supplies and livestock equipment.

Again, just like in Australian airports, people are absent from Indonesian supermarkets. 🤦🏼‍♂️The sanctions seem to be coming all over the world. Thanks Russell the tour of both stores were amazing both stores are massive I wish you would show us the prices of things and break it down for us who have US or money from Canada what is the difference as to how much things cost and are you going to do another trip were you take us to see how much you can buy for a US dollar , its good to see you safe in Bali its nice and warm there beautiful oceans and beaches I sure would love to see the beaches Cheers
