Being able to watch POV is really helpful, and the information is so clean and straight forward. I feel like a lot of mage players "know" their abilities, but don't know how to apply them (like using alter time to deal with positioning mechanics). Keep up the great work!

I was a frost mage main from MoP untill mid BfA and I would try to preach many of these tips to people who were struggling with dps but i could never properly explain to them. OMG this is the biggest issue I have with a caster...coming from a melee spec it's the movement that I know is hurting my damage / DPS...one thing I'm still confused about is Alter Time...I hope you will nail this for me in a future video...loving the channel..with many subscribers comes much responsibility :D

Nice Video. It will surely help me improve! But i'm still confused when to use defensive CDs and what exactly mirror images do. Is It Worth to cast them before the pull?

You basically want to use them during a time where you will be taking extra damage! The more you play the fights and learn them will help you know when to use them. If you’re on a farm fight where there is no danger and you wouldn’t use them, you can just pop them on cooldown for the tiniest tiniest dps. It is a defensive cooldown though, so mainly use it when your raid leader/healers call for it. Or like I said, when you know you will be taking more damage!

I use Slick Ice for ST fights like Shriekwing. Then Freezing Winds is good for 2 target fights like huntsman!

If you're looking for a challenge can you try a video on Mythic sludge? He's pretty darn complicated for my simple frosty brain, but Ive been blown out of the water by like 1.5k by another frost mage on the fight so clearly there's some stuff I need to improve on!

Hey , with nerfs coming to fire mage, do you think Frost has potential to be competitive for 9.1? My guild has a lot of newer players so I wanna have fun while also being able to "carry" dps as much as possible! We are not doing mythic or anything and frost looks fun as hell but fire seems like such a huge damage bringer too

Outside of world first and maybe famed slayer ranking, all specs are capable of producing more than viable damage if you’re good at it. If you enjoy frost I’d always recommend play what you enjoy! It’s hard to predict what 9.1 will bring as, until it goes live, nothing is set in stone. Plus until the raid is out and people are playing it, it’s difficult to know how each spec will perform in there. My advice is be prepared for both specs if you can. Fire is good but so is frost. Playing off meta doesn’t mean your damage will be bad so you’re safe to play frost if that’s what you enjoy!

@@Okaymage I totally agree. People should play the spec they are best at and enjoy. I just don't enjoy fire in it's current iteration and from my experience in raids, I am beating more geared fire mages on the regular. So while fire may be amazing(often with PI), a well played Frosty will be right there in dps as well.

The biggest recommendation I can give to players who are just starting to think about improving their damage, with regards to movement, is to have a plan. You should never go into an encounter without understanding what could happen to you, what mechanics you might need to deal with, or how the boss will move throughout the fight. Understanding the tactic, in combination with paying attention to your boss timers will allow you to pre-position to more effectively minimize movement. Another thing to consider is how to fill those moments in the fight where you can't cast anything with useful spells. For example, on Mythic Sire, while in the air after blood price 2 in p1, I like to use Frost nova to proc DC and fish for a heating up proc with a scorch cast. Alternatively, on my warlock, I might use my mortal coil for a quick 20% healing to help our healers out a bit. Taking into consideration your ENTIRE toolkit when approaching a boss can vastly improve your damage as well as your general performance and make you a very desirable player!

Gotta admit, your movement is a slightly bit better then mine. When those orbs were heading towards you, i would have blinked away from my rune of power there. You instead just moved just enough not to get hitted by those orbs moving towards you. As a frost main player, I do know that was just perfect play there lol. But people, never use rune of power when you know u got to abandon it straight away :) Make sure you are making the full use out of it :)
