Yeah ironically the mid credit scene in The Nun 2 is just a recycled deleted scene from The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It used now to set up a possible 4th case haha

No problem! It's a pretty fun detail. Ever since they cast Taissa in The Nun speculation has been through the roof on if they'd ever connect her character Irene to Lorraine in some way so it seems like they finally found a way to do it.

its not, case in point Remember in the ending of the Nun 1, frenchy dies during an excorcist (Explained by Loraine). Valak is the only one attached to frenchy. Frenchy didnt die in Nun 2, so theres a hint that once again Valak will be back.@@s.r6331

The movies was fine but so much potential wasted ….. 1. why was Burk killed offscreen , they could’ve showed a badass scene 2. Why the kind of Superhero approach 3. Ending was, well, a tad bit incomplete in my opinion. In no way they explained how Valak survived, and a concrete connection to conjuring universe.

Yeah a few of the last Conjuring Universe movies have been a bit more over the top similar to superhero films. There's still a ton of years to play around with between the events in this and connecting it more with the Conjuring films so I'm hoping they'll connect more and more over time.

Commenting because I just watched both Nun 1 again and Nun 2 for the first time Regarding the post-credit scene with the phonecall, it seems quite obvious, but something easily forgotten, considering the time that has gone between the movies Like the symbol for Valak, the ouroboros, the series seems to go in a circle- the Conjuring series is post Nun 1 & 2, and the post-credit scene for Nun 1 is Ed & Lorraine Warren in an exorcism of Maurice (Frenchie), and it seems most likely that the post-credit scene for Nun 2, is Ed & Lorraine is picking up the phone to answer the call about that exorcism, where Lorraine screams when she has a vision of Valak, which then would lead into the Conjuring movies

It's definitely possible it could lead into that moment. I mostly feel it'll lead into the 4th Conjuring since it's an unused scene from The Conjuring 3 but really it's up in the air.

If I had to speculate since Maurice still has an exorcism that'll happen with the Warren's eventually in The Conjuring perhaps Irene saw a vision of that or something along those lines so she knows Valak still will come back again.

@@Avacado721 It's at the end of the first Nun movie. It cuts to 20 years later during the events of the first Conjuring where Ed and Lorraine show a class an exorcism they did and it was on Frenchie

Watch the very first Conjuring movie. Carolyn Perron went to a seminar the Warrens were holding at a college I assume, she went there to convince them to come “take a look” at her house because they were being haunted by various ghosts. At the seminar, they showed a clip of an exorcism that was performed on Maurice. It was the premise for the Nun making her first appearance in the Conjuring 2. If u want to watch them in chronological order (for the Nun), it should be The NUN, THE NUN II, possibly the Conjuring 4 (which hasn’t come out yet), then the Conjuring 2. There was also an Easter egg about the NUN in the Annabelle Creation (another Conjuring Universe movie), the sister who was in charge of the little girls home had a picture of herself & some other nuns at a convent before she left & u can see the demonic Nun in a window in the background.

But hold on a sec, how can Lorraine and Sister Irene be related if she is a nun and therefore celibate? Either Sister Irene renounced her vows or she is Lorraine herself. I believe the latter. And since both the actors playing are related and look similar, this also solidifies.

Plus the fact that Irene is clairvoyant could be the very reason why she is seeing visions of Lorraine who is potentially her future self.

You can still have relatives despite being a nun. Whether it's sisters, cousins, etc we don't know yet exactly how Irene and Lorraine are related but I'm sure that's something they'll reveal eventually in a future project.

It would be dull imo if Lorraine is going to be shown just as some nephew of Irene. What is even more crazier is how Irene is getting visions of Lorraine (who is in the future). It would make more sense if both were the same person and hence thereby getting visions rather than Irene getting visions of a distant descendant

@@kaeezin the nun 2, they explain that the family of ts Lucy were spread, throughout, this can also tie into why people were ending up dead throughout romania to outer east as one of the priests said in the movie cause the family of Lucy were spread out, remember descendants can be anywhere, not to mention, you can share the same descendant but not be 100% related to the other person.

I don't really understand how the ending of The Nun 2 plays into the scene in The Conjuring where it shows a video of an exorcist being done on Maurice. I thought the whole point that was the connecting factor was that Maurice was still possessed and showed up in the Conjuring. Is it implied that he's still possessed?

I'd expect him to still be connected to Valak in some way. It's tough to predict really just because there's still so many years between The Nun 2 and his exorcism that they showed in the first Conjuring.

What a utter disappointment after nun 1 really being in my mind a strong film . With incredibly clever twists of nuns that are dead & the most devout Committing in her eyes, the most horrific scene of suicide to avoid being possessed. There was so much to delve into and I was generally scared, watching the first NUN I was hooked yet the second one, I found it absolutely muddled grabbing at any idea to continue the franchise It seem like they were grabbing for different concepts after there’s been issues with the actress that plays Vahalik I went with optimism, but with sadly , thoroughly disappointed, I hope it improves

Valak seems to come back from hell pretty often so now it seems like her motivation is going after descendants of St.Lucy which now includes Lorraine. I'm guessing the first time Valak made that connection to Lorraine was when they're doing the exorcism on Frenchie and she sees Valak.

During Irene's montage that confirms she's a descendant of St.Lucy there's also a shot of Lorraine's eyes. We don't know yet how they're related we'll just have to see how in a future film.

There isn't an official explanation for why Bichir didn't return as Father Burke in The Nun 2. Neither the actor nor the producers addressed the issue. When asked whether there was a version of the film featuring Father Burke, Michael Chaves joked he considered bringing him back as a zombie sums up how ridiculous Nun 2 is 😮
