I’ve heard Masako’s story told many times in various ways. This is a most welcome and refreshing. Thank you. Well done with the pronunciations as well.

Never heard of her, and I feel I have studied a bit of Japanese history. The question, I have, was all this power grabbing worth the effort? Still see this today. Fortunately, many live well satisfied in the nameless middle class.

Every now and then, both in this video and that of Wu Zetien, I had to pause for a second just to take in how different it was compared to VII/ XIII century Western Europe- the juxtaposition is fascinating! Hope you had a Merry Christmas and wishes of a Happy New Year!!

Goodness this conflagration of a family sure does make the story difficult to keep up with. It's like the Wars of the Roses. At what point does one say, 'enough is enough'!? All this misfortune, intrigue and death of innocents because some old guy couldn't let go when he said he would and a bunch of arse hat siblings and their cohorts, who couldn't decide what they want, nor give a damn about who has to pay the price of their conceit and greed.

So, if you had to choose a place and to live in the XIII century, where would it be and why?

So many errors in this video, some minor, some not so minor. Just re-enforces reasons to distrust AI.
