RespectfullyJericho, Edge, Christian ALL aren’t far from the age of Nash and Hall were in 2010. Sting was an entire decade and a half older than them when he retired. WWE heavily featured Goldberg and Undertaker in their 50’s as well. I think people forget or too young to remember just how over the nWo was, kinda still is because their merch sells to this day. The problem was WCW didn’t know how to capitalize on it. I agree though TNA rebooting but reminding everyone about what was bad about WCW wasn’t a good idea in retrospect. Lesson learned, Hulk Hogan as a wrestler is a huge draw, Hogan given any type of creative control has no clue about anything other than to make himself look strong.

Their mistake was recreating the past in another company that wasn't really nessacary. Okay, Jarrett, really build a company off the ashes of a promotion where he lost his job but still got paid with what's left of that contract. He only built it just so he was the top guy, not really a good look already. But maybe their own version of an ECW send-off was a good touch, along with the early days of Aces & Eights was very good. But, for them to turn Jeff Hardy heel, while they were cutting Styles pay, who had been loyal vs. before Hardy debuted there. But rehiring Vince Russo, who was part of wCw's downfall, which made Paramount terminate their Impact television contract long before their renewal date. Like losing a big tv deal early like that because of the person who knew the bare minimum about the pro wrestling business, and that was Dixie Carter. It was one stupid decision after another, and once they lost their 3rd tv deal from Destination America, it was the end of the original company that's once again is now TNA.

I actually immediately quite liked the idea of Nash turning face as a rouse to get the nWo back contracted. This kind of thing was, I think, part of why they failed so badly in 2002 - the WWE obviously just brought them back to make Hogan face and draw big crowds again, and if Hall and Nash did alright - great - but, given how past their use by Nash and Hall were, TNA introduced them well (overlooking the subsequent re-heel-face turning thing. WWE and TNA, in my opinion, just missed the greatest aspect of the nWo - who was turning next? (Prior to the awful Wolfpac thing in 1999) The nWo was largely a strong unit with all the major members remaining unified (prior to 1999). If WWE and TNA had just handled them like an unbreakable unified evil force slowly growing in membership until they had, maybe, 20 members - then they spent the subsequent weeks beating the crap out of face wrestlers without ANY in-fighting at all (WHY do post wCw versions of nWo insist on infighting and split ups? Let it develop) - that would’ve kicked butt. Sean Michaels alongside Hogan in nWo 2002? Sounds great to me. If they’d just held off on turning Hogan goddam face they’d have added Steiner by the end of that year too. Bloody ridiculous, modern wrestling is. I’m old so I don’t watch anymore, but wCw 96-98 was, for me, the REAL golden age of wrestling, not the 80s.

The "band" didn't work for the same reason DX was slowly watered down in second and third iterations of it over the years, they forgot what originally brought them to the dance, the nWo was about blurring the lies of fiction and reality, in the WWE and even worse in TNA, they were just another wrestling stable, ...and that wasn't what made the group so popular to begin with. In the story-line Vince brought them in as the "poison" to kill the company but when they joined, they were docile and tame, no jumping guys, no breaking monitors etc, no hostile takeover, just 3 guys asking for a chance, I remember that, I watched it at a friend's house, they were tame and defanged, and as history shows, it didn't work, nostalgia kicked in and Hogan turned face and it shortly disintegrated after that. It is what it is though, I'm sure these guys knew that but "Pro Wrestlers" are independent contractors, so you take work when you can, it was what it was.

@@Chris-wi3vu I don't disagree with that, but that's not apart of my point. Every once in a life time recurring faction will have it's corny stage somewhere along down the line. @@LaidBack-- I don't agree with this, then nWo did what DX or no other faction in wrestling can ever claim to do, it blurred the lines between "story-line" and "reality". It was the first true anti authority wrestling, in alot of ways DX just copied what the nWo was doing and just put their own spin on it. In 1996, nobody knew what what going to happen when Hall and Nash first arrived in WCW but in 1997, when the original DX first hit the scenes, everyone knew it was just another wrestling duo/stable.

I remember my initial pop on the Hogan debut and quickly was like "... what is happening?" lol. I'm a massive Hall fan but he wasn't in shape for this, so all the work was falling on Waltman and later Young. As you suggested, if this had to happen then Nash should've been resistant with Hogan, only to team with Young (or preferably someone not joining the group) against them and then Nash turns to help his buddies out. As great as MCMG were, I felt Shelley could've been their guy and this could have been a vehicle for his and Nash's old friendship to launch him as their Michaels

They weren't just any faction they were the greatest faction. Seeing them in the mix with TNAs young guns on Thursdays/ Mondays -it was way better than the babyfied crap WWE was putting on at that time with the stupid guest hosts and dummied down storylines. TNA at the time i felt had a good balance of talent a mixture of legends, newcomers and savy vets. And hey if you can throw a lil nWo in the mix go for it. The Band although lame and a corny name is a callback to their hey day as it something Scott used to refer to them as was before nWo 2000

NWO was dead after 1999... by 1999 it fully ran its course and was way out of hand in the WCW. I remember them reforming in 2000 and I wasn't impressed as I was pretty much done with the NWO thing because served its purpose, and it had become stale as it took over the WCW company by 1999. Now watching the Outsiders show up on WCW Nitro? There's Hall and Nash at their best, and very early days of NWO when it was Sixx, Hogan, Hall, Nash. 1996-1998 were most interesting times. They captured some magic with fans of wrestling, it was new and different, they were working outside the norm of conventional wrestling we all knew before them so as a teenager I loved it.

The Wolfpac in TNA (Hall Nash and Syxx) was just as bad because they called them "The Band" 😂😂😂 Hall and Nash should've bought the Outsiders name from WWE. Or called themselves the WolfKliq or Wolfband in TNA or the Wolfpac World Order 😂😂😂

TNA must've not watch WCW because sting is a terrible heel. There's just some people in wrestling and in life that are not good as a baddie. Especially if you're wearing face paint

Eric Bischoff And WCW Stars Couldn’t Save Indy Minor League Promotion TNA. What Homegrown/Young Talent Did TNA Have Main Event Worthy Who Casuals Root For? Only 2, Bobby Roode & James Storm & They Aren’t Talked About As Tge Rest Of The TNA Homegrown Originals Who Were Small Guys & Fat Heavyweights In Cruiserweights Bodies. TNA’s Heart Was They Cruiserweight X Division. Noone Would Talk About Them Without WCW Stars There Except Smarks. The NWO In TNA Or The Main Event Mafia Should’ve Destroyed TNA. The NWO Or Millionaire Club(Sting, Goldberg/Lex Luger, Kevin Nash, Hulk Hogan, Sid Vicious , Ric Flair, DDP, Kronik & Misfits )Would’ve Destroyed Todays Promotions. What TNA Originals Could’ve Stopped The Main Event Mafia Or NWO. NONE. Today’s WWE Couldn’t Stop TheNWO Or Millionäre’s Club. They Probably Couldn’t Stop The New Blood. TNA Aces And Eights Which Was A Faction With Younger Guys & Without WCW Stars Had Mostly Indy Vanilla Midgets. Aces And Eights Was There Far Too Long. They Would’ve Lated Less Than A Week In WCW. The WWE Would’ve Treated Them Like A Threat Like They Did The Spirit Squad And ECW In 2005. One WCW Top Star Would’ve Taken On The Spirit Squad By Themselves And 2 Of Them Would’ve Destroyed ECW 10 Wrestlers There In The Invasion Angle Or 2005. Aces And Eight Makes The Dungeon Of Doom Look Like The Corporation And DX combined. Also DX Never Compare To TheNWO.

I could totally see Tony Khan attempting to put a new NWO together, with Jeff Jarrett, & whoever else they can find!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Yeah, this was the absolute worst era, of TNA, as far as I'm concerned, & I actually quit watching for the remainder of 2010, cause I so despised the booking, they were doing, at this time, before I started watching again in 2011, then quit again, sometime in 2013, then picked back up again, in 2020. Anyways, now, I just look back & laugh at this time period, lol.
