Happy Birthday to Eddie Levert, longtime member and co-lead singer of the legendary O'Jays, born June 16th, 1942. On June 16, 2024 he celebrated his 82nd birthday. By any measure, the O'Jays are one of the most important Soul Music groups of all-time. Whether delivering funky dance music, romantic ballads, or thoughtful social commentary in song

She left peacefully; I just know our conversation contributed to her peaceful departure. Went to see her and told her someday we would, "Do it again" "Do it again",,, RIP!

You're right! I think all of these changes come from this cause: the internet, since it has caused a major division in families. In the sixties and seventies there were only 1 or 2 telephones in a family house. Today, in a house, the father, the mother, and each of their children all have their iPhones, to live individually instead of living as a family. And since the existence of social networks and KZbin, children are no longer at the living room with their parents. In a way, it is catastrophic.

Man, I truly truly miss and get sad when I hear music like this because this was true music. They talked about real things and real problems. They also made beautiful songs to bring us together. I miss real groups like the O’Jays and so sad is there is no more real R&B a whole genre of music that spoke to our hearts family our loved ones and mostly our women they said the words we could not say to each other but we let that die where is the humanity going next we don’t know how to talk to each other. We talk to each other but you put on some R&B and they would all be better.🙏🏽🔥

@@scotts6698 bullshit ! there's plenty of underground groups that make this type of music daily for instance like the Devon Lamar organ trio who has about 4 albums out already and very soulful has that 70 sound completely and countless other bands you just have to look for them but that type of music is still around

@@ronaldwilliams4954 easy on the hostility. Just as there are cover bands for groups from the 60's & 70's, they aren't mainstream, they don't get played on the airwaves, and the sounds of that era are largely forgotten by the groups and artists of today. So unless someone knows of a certain band or performer or gets wind of the music, then it will remain underground.
