He's just a dude that sees things in a different perspective and has enough social compass to not do something deemed "bad". He himself said it: "I wish I had Michael's balls" meaning, he doesn't have them. He is just comfortable enough to be transparent about his way of thinking.

@TheJerbol Not sure on their ages, I know things are a bit different now post internet era and folks tend to be a bit more tribal and polarized. Prior to that though, making friends worked a bit different. You'd hang out with your neighbor and be friends even if you had barely anything in common or how much you disagreed. There simply wasn't anyone else to talk to otherwise. Sort of a Kyle and Cartman situation from South Park, you know? Not sure the circumstances behind how they met or shared bonds or what have you, but you'd be surprised how things can be overlooked in the mutual interest of just... shared social bonds and herd mentality, with humans. Frustrating as some other people can be, putting up with them was better than not having anyone to talk to at all, and nor could you so easily vett their opinions on everything beforehand, back then.

I know everybody was very here for Dinner Party, but this episode has always been my Dinner Party. The confrontation between Michael and Stanley at the end has such a strong mix of honest conflict, introspection and a realistic level of humour. Admittedly, I forgot how weird much of the rest of the episode was. The crew were right, some writer was _really_ out to be weird about Pam or something.

The R Kelly Boondocks episode really highlighted what Pat is like. Pat is like Shane from Blindwave. Everyone just sort of half chuckles and moves on and act like they're not problematic until one day sometimes comes out and everyone will go, "Oh yeah, I had a feeling about him". Literally every bad take he agrees with. If there's a sexist, phobic, or any otherwise creepy take he'll take it. I guess that's the word, "creepy", everyone is just "weird" and "creepy" until it's too late.

Does Pat realise Michael is literally a parody of an obnoxious character that you should never try to emulate IRL. @@rockycuro7737 I couldn't agree less. Michael gets plenty of feedback to know many of his actions are offensive, yet never to rarely learns from his past. There are exceptions to occasionally (rarely) being rude & obnoxious due to ignorance... but by far and large, grown adults choose whether they want to rude & obnoxious or not. Michael's not enduring & it hypothetically would be miserable to have to endure his presence for many hours a week irl. However, I can separate a tv show from real life & definitely appreciate the character Michael Scott very much for all the comedy he brought to The Office... cringe, rudeness, obnoxiousness & all.
@rockycuro7737
@rockycuro7737 Жыл бұрын
@@_MjG_ there is no feedback to let him know. The only times he ever got some sort of feedback is when Karen called him misogynistic and he didn’t know what that word meant, and when Oscar yelled at him for being insulting and Micheal felt bad about it. Yes Micheal is a grown adult but he clearly doesn’t have the mental capacity of one. I think the show has made that very clear.
@_MjG_
@_MjG_ Жыл бұрын
@@rockycuro7737 Irregardless of feedback or not, it's every adults responsibility to know if they are "rude & obnoxious" to others. There's zero excuse for being an ahole like Michael or Todd Packer. There's other ways of recieving feedback other than to be reprimanded for one's behavior. There are many visual &/or audio cues that show people don't recieve Michael's behavior well. Michael even shows that he picks up on those cues by trying to make up for some of his horrible behavior in selective cases.

Dwight didn't force him to do anything, Andy had the option to say no, just like Michael did later in the episode when Dwight tried the exact same tactic with him. If someone left the keys in their car and the car gets stolen, do you blame the thief, or the moron who left their keys in their car....?

And how could he watched like 4 seasons and said everyone else in the office respect Michael... aside from Dwight, almost none of them ever shown that to Michael (and clearly they're not disrespect him as much as Stanley), they might fear him because he is their boss, they pitied him sometimes, recognized that Michael want to be a good boss once in awhile, etc. And even Dwight is like the kind of person who show respect for authority, therefore he respect Michael but the moment he has the chance to replace him, he took that right away and come behind Michael's back, not until later he might showed the actual respect for Michael.

I get that people didn't like how Michael handled Stanley with the fake firing, and after that Stanley was right to tell him off. That being said, Michael started off in the right when he tried to get his employee to participate in a office meeting. Michael was even told by HR he had the option of firing Stanley before the fake firing, but didn't want to do that to him. Stanley may not respect Michael, but Michael still let him keep his job.

Its not the buyers responsibility for the seller to have all the information about what they're selling. Andy should've know better and also have a backbone. You guys are looking at the whole friend thing. Its should be strictly business and it's your own fault for getting your feelings hurt. Which is probably why you shouldn't loan friends money or go into business with them in the first place 😂

Finally someone with a proper take about this lol. Usually the saying is "Buyer beware" as in usually the the buyer is the one getting swindled. Andy was the seller and STILL got swindled. Andy literally held all the power in the situation and still got duped.

Look, I know Michael is Michael. But Stanley has some nerve acting the way he does when Michael really asks very little of him. He really lets Stanley get away with a lot that most bosses wouldn't but whenever he's asked to participate he gets rude and disrespectful about it. Michael could just as easily tell him "no more crossword puzzles during meetings" and there wouldn't be a thing Stanley could say about it.

Does Pat act that way to seem “different” or is he actually serious? He’s ruining the reaction videos with every comment he makes

Pat is a fucking enigma lmfao He’s sometimes so composed and knowledgeable about things, other times I wonder how the hell he got a job as HR He’s literally a cross between his exceptionally groomed beard and his erratic hair 😂 love him

If your improv community is mostly men, then theres almost certainly a cultural issue thats pushing women away, because “mostly men do improv” is hella not true elsewhere. (And its a fixable problem, there are resources out there).

You say that like its a fact. Maybe woman in that particular area just aren't into improv. Not everything is a conspiracy sometimes there are just coincidences.

@@hankscorpio7767 sure maybe, but the chances are higher that they feel pushed out or unsafe. Not even suggesting it’s a conspiracy or intentional, cos it very rarely is - most of the time its men not realising what a fucking problem their being, or not consciously choosing to make a safe space for everyone. Its a cultural thing that takes effort.
