The secret to losing weight is to learn to tolerate the feeling of hunger because hunger is the feeling of your body losing weight. Also, let go of the habit of wanting to feel full and "stuffed". Eat only enough to satiate your hunger and nothing more. Never fast food. A healthy diet requires carbohydrates and protein along with essential vitamins and minerals. All this focus on "fat" and "carbs" is nothing but a fad. Your body gains weight when you consume more calories than it can burn as energy. It then stores those extra calories as fat. Calories are found in everything you eat. Some have more, some have less. Just eat a balanced meal, only less of it. That's all you got to do. Exercise is important but using it to lose weight just means you're eating too much. If you have extra calories you need to burn off then you consumed too much to begin with.

I'm not big by any means, but I did put on nearly twenty pounds during my daughters first year of life, something I'm told happens often to dads but is nonetheless hard to stop once it's started.
