I don't know why but some people find it harder than others. It's a bit difficult at first, you have to blow quite hard to get it inflated a bit, then you pinch the end while you get your breath back, then blow again to fully inflate, it's much easier once you're past the first part, as it gets bigger as the rubber gets thinner and thinner
