It was truly my favorite moment of Michael. That whole scenario with him drinking with the client and having a nice meeting is a way buttering him up for the personal talk, where he can sneak in the sale pitch naturally. So smart.

The thing about Michael is he's actually a FANTASTIC sales person. The reason why he is such a bad boss (outside of his crippling insecurities) is he just performed so well he got promoted both out of his wheelhouse and comfort zone. If the man stayed in sales he probably would have been much MUCH easier for people to deal with and probably would have been much better received by the people around him. Its the fact he could force situations that feeds into those insecurities that cause him to become insufferable.

Yes! He's one of my favourite recurring characters in the show. 😍 I love the episode after he gets fired by DM and Michael goes to visit him at his house trying to get his help about Sabre. It's so funny, yet Andy Buckley's performance always makes me genuinely sad for David Wallace. He's so lost. Andy Buckley perfectly balances the humour and the pathos of the character. Not easy to do. I'm also very glad that they brought him back, and gave him the ending he deserved. 😊

Dwight’s letter gets to me every time. It’s on par with the time Oscar insists that Angela, her son and all the cats live with him until she can get back on her feet. We see Angela put her hand on his and sincerely thank him. It’s the compassion both these men (Michael and Oscar) demonstrate that is genuinely moving. It resonates cause we have all been there, struggling and needing help but too proud to ask for it. We hope someone like these two people, who posses integrity and empathy, would take the initiative and offer us aid after witnessing the desperation on our faces. At least that’s my theory, but I may be wrong and that works too, still poignant scenes nonetheless. Stay golden…

Moments like this may not have happened very often but they happened enough over the course of the series and it's just the right times to let you know that Michael Scott was both a fairly competent boss and salesman and human being to balance out his lack of self-awareness and selfishness and generally grating personality and behavior. While the writers and showrunners deserve their share of credit, the majority absolutely goes to Steve Carell who should have never been forced to leave and should actually be asked back to be the star of the new one that many people don't seem interested in because they love the original so much.

That single moment of Michael showing up for Pam at her art show is why he can do or say absolutely anything and I will still love. NO. MATTER. WHAT.

5:18 This is what being a creator on KZbin is like. If you have just a few people like Michael supporting you, driving you to keep improving your art to perfection, it keeps the spirit alive. The community can be savage, copyright holders can be oppressive. You perfect your art but have leverage applied, muzzling you from sharing it anyway. I feel that hug deeply, Pam had a rough time at the art show, so have I. I wish I had someone to hug.

The scene where he makes the sale at the restaurant was where my view of his character really took a 180 turn. I went from watching an inept buffoon to seeing an honorable man. Add to that when he bought Pam's picture, he really reminds us not to pass judgement on what's inside a person. Sometimes it can really take a long time before we can see it.
