I have a complaint. These shows are too short. I need more! :) such a great show, great guests and Ed Helm seems like such a great guy. Thanks guys!

Hope some authoritative figure reads this: these interviews are really exceptional - professional but in a much more intimate and sincere way and subsequently the conversation and atmosphere is several cuts above standard talk show format. Keep this quality up and I truly believe that you'll overtake the traditional format in no time. Good day

Watching Ed during this interview was the best part of my day! Nobody makes me laugh like him. He has this soothing presence about him. He's very intelligent, sweet and charming! I have such a crush on him!

I liked the end, with the different person starting a rival blue grass festival. "Is that gonna be a problem?" "-a little bit...". That made me laugh.

PFT did seem somewhat reserved in this episode. No mention of the drinks, which are major part of the show as well., but Mr Helms is rather reserved himself. This seemed to be a much more serious and introspective interview. I came away with a new found respect for this serious actor. And as always enjoyed PFT, because he is Paul F Tompkins. A professional actor with insightful questins and immpecable tast in suits.

I actually never really like Ed Helms in most of things he's in. I don't know why, I'm working on that, but this just being him is fantastic! I really enjoy Ed as Ed.

he's totally typecast as a way more uptight and sort of passive aggressive person, and i think he has visually offensive clothing worked into his contract or something. but yeah he busted balls to get where he's at, and some say that playing the straight guy is more difficult than being the funny one, i dunno i dont act

ive only seen the second one. im confident my brain is better at stretching the material than hollywood is. i strongly dislike when zach galifianakis is typecast as a dumbass. his new show Baskets is wonderful, he plays two twins, Chip n Dale

I think I prefer the episodes where it's more of a laid back dialogue. There are a lot of straight up interview shows that dive into the careers of the guests. On this show I prefer when Paul and the guest just bullshit. Not a bad episode though.

I got that sense too. Maybe he and Ed aren't too chummy off-camera and that bled over into the interview? As much as I really dig Helms, he comes off as a little too goody-goody sometimes, almost to the point where he kinda strikes me as disingenuous. I dunno. I'm probably reading into this too much.

I took that as following his interviewee. Ed Helms wasn't making jokes so PFT was matching his style. I think his interviewing skill is razor sharp.
@dresdenvisage
@dresdenvisage 9 жыл бұрын
jeffdustin Agreed. Helms wasn't being funny, just doing a standard interview, so PFT just echoed his energy, which was barely any at all.

why oh why didn't PFT interview Eugene Mirman, or Kristen Schaal for that matter!? Bring PFT back (ugh russel pettters, i won't even spell his name right anymore) and make this happen!
