Jim Halpert: Thinks Halloween is stupid, derides his co-workers for participating in it and will do the bare minimum to dress up for it. Also Jim Halpert: Will go out of his way on a random day of the year to cosplay as Dwight and steal Dwight's identity.

The only thing I would've liked to see even more from that joke is if, at the end, Jim looks smugly over at Pam like "see how bad he is at getting back at me" and Pam just looks at him seriously with a shrug like "think again buddy, it's not bad" :)

To be fair though it's a matter of perspective if the man was showing Phyllis his penis or if Phyllis were looking at his penis. Naked guy minding his own business just needed a little help with directions but Phyllis takes the oppurtunity to stare at his penis. Who's the actual pervert here ??

Omg...I know, right?! I've seen this episode 100 times & never picked up on that. I know there's a ton of stuff that doesn't end up in the final cut (probably run-time reasons). Idk for a fact, but I think this show in particular had more stuff cut out than the traditional sit-com. There's so much improve there's bound to be a lot that doesn't make it to air

Oh that Jim, he just can't resist a quip... It is super awkward and inappropriate regardless of legality, and not to defend Andy here because the whole situation grosses me out (from both parties), but there ARE plenty of 18 year old high school students. So the "nothing illegal" teasing is a bit mean, other than I guess it's the best way to "scare him straight" haha.

I totally get why it's sad to see Jan upset like that. Even if she did it to herself. It's tough to see someone like Jan, who is this strong, confident & competent woman, that's doesn't let anything rattle her, it's really surprising when something does ...especially on camera

I think my hottest take is that I don’t like what they did to Jan in this season, even though (as everyone will point out) it leads us directly to the best episode of the series in season 4. I liked the dynamic a lot more when she was a put upon but competent authority figure who was slowly won over by Michael’s goofy charm, even as she had to reign in his antics. Her turn into a manic depressive self destructive sex pest comes out of nowhere and feels kind of cheap, in retrospect. All of that said, she plays the role very well and it does feel like richly deserved karmic punishment for Michael. I guess I like where we end up but not how we get there.
@jacqueef93 Жыл бұрын
I agree! It’s so odd and really did come outta nowhere
@jerodast Жыл бұрын
I totally agree, except that I didn't even like the season 4 episode you refer to very much either, for exactly that reason. Just felt unhinged for unhinged sake. Over all my time rewatching the series though, I've come to accept that's just the way it went, and appreciate the funny parts of that whole saga. (No shade on Melora Hardin either, she did the best she could with the story writing and often mined something funny out of turn that I'd normally go "okay, REALLY?") I have a theory they did that so they could take 3 years to come up with any other woman who could possibly be interested in Michael, and that was the only way to justify Jan sticking around with him so long.

This one of the rare episodes I think Karen actual didn't look good character wise. After hearing all that crazy shit and Michael being unhappy she still recommend they work through it was insane to me. It felt more like they wrote her to just be opposite of Pam is all for this interaction.
@JimmyMacram Жыл бұрын
I just thought it was her projecting her situation into Michael's. Essentially, she'd want Jim to work through it even though he's... maybe not unhappy... but Karen wasn't his first choice.
@abc123tiktok Жыл бұрын
@@JimmyMacram I agree just felt more forced writing wise imo. Or I thought personality Karen wouldn't be as petty to completely push Michael aside. Its one of the moments that makes Pam look better for caring for Michael's happiness rather than making it about Jim and her. Just my take on it.

I don't think that woman was being unreasonable asking Michael to resign, especially from an insider's POV. He was too scared to fire Creed, and that led to an incompetent employee ignoring protocols. It's incompetence from the top down.
