Xalder Variations on two genders does not equate to more than two genders (gender is, of course, based on chromosomes, not hormones), and "science" is a method of deduction, not a statement with little to no proof, like the statement Bill Nye's show proposed.
@user-is2zv4sc6y
@user-is2zv4sc6y 7 жыл бұрын
Gender is separate from biological sex, as it pertains to the social construction of male and female as opposed to the sex organs one is born with. There's not really a scientific argument to be made about gender, rather it's more of a thing interpreted by society and individuals within that society. I will argue the two genders with variations of intensity and level of identification with that identification that people can feel. I strongly disagree that a third gender can truly be argued when, if connected to biological sex, there's only two sexes with very little (and exceedingly rare (based on chromosomal defects)) variation on those sexes. Gender identity as a social construct and as a personal construct can be argued to the end of time but there's no actual science behind this issue as it boils down completely to human emotions. Emotion is virtually by definition non-scientific, being illogical but for the fact that everyone has them. I didn't actually watch Bill Nye's show so I admit I'm not too certain about how it stated the message of gender identity and whatnot, but this whole issue is very confused because different words with different similar definitions are being confused and used interchangeably even though they shouldn't be. As for Nye, I respect that he's trying to make science cool, same goes for Tyson. Neil is just this astrophysicist who is a huge nerd and widely popular who likes to talk about nerdy things and relate them to his field of study. I am studying to operate nuclear-powered reactors. I know more about nuclear reactions than I do about chemical reactions, even though both types of reactions involve atoms and chemical reactions are better understood overall. We're able to know a great deal about something that seems pretty minor such as astrophysics or nuclear power (okay frankly my job is probably cooler than Neil's let's be honest here), and still be just as subject to not really knowing what the fuck is going on in the human mind because despite being a part of ourselves, we understand very little about how it works. I forgot my point. I guess maybe it's just that hey we're all people and we're all fallible, even scientists. Because while people can know a lot about a lot of things, nobody but NOBODY is the ultimate authority on anything. I think people forget that a lot, and science has a pretty high moral ground with being able to say "hey what we said before wasn't quite right, here's how we understand better now," which can lead to people putting them on that moral high ground and forgetting that, once again, these people are also human and not really any sort of ultimate authority. No such figure exists to the best of our collective knowledge. Loads of people BELIEVE such a figure exists but such a figure hasn't made themselves known to us. It probably knows better than to do so if it's own existence were the case. Goddamn do I ramble...

Big theatre fan, big phantom fan, and big fan of this channel. That show, along with most other shows that are big hit musicals, are just an escape in a way for the audience. Let the music take you, you know? Not every musical or show can be as potent as something like Les Miserables or be as well written of a script as something like Hamlet, but it's still there for entertainment and escape, and it takes you in a hour ey to a whole nother world. That being said, love never dies in the other hand is atrociously written. 😂

Kaya is just a super salty man. He's far to angry about some things. I dislike how he tries to come off as superior while being blindingly ignorant to the meaning behind things. Tyson for an example is an amazing man for the community if only because he's made so many people interested. Even if you disagree with his style of speaking you have to understand it's value.

In all honesty, I'm still not entirely sure why Kaya hates Bill Nye so much. I get he thinks he's a scammer and con artist etc., that he's not a 'real scientist' and all, but has he given a concrete reason, like a solid example, of why he absolutely loathes these personalities so much?? Genuine question, I just wanna know since he talks about it so much.

I have to say that Kaya has me for a long time even before the podcast, when I'd just watch his own videos or videos he'd make with Charlie, but now he's reaching a point where he is so obnoxious that I don't want to listen to the podcast at all anymore. Most people watch this FOR CHARLIE, this is his channel, people are mainly interested in him, they want to hear him, but the podcast is 90% just Andrew and Kaya talking over each other. Now Andrew I can tolerate and even enjoy because he's at least funny, he has funny or interesting stories, he has interesting questions to ask and interesting answers to give, and it balances out the moments when he's more obnoxious. Jackson is a little sweetheart who gets not nearly enough screentime. Charlie is too shy to ever insert himself into the conversation. But fucking Kaya man. There's nothing there. It's him complaining about liberalism non-stop in every single episode, constantly roping everyone else into political conversations they clearly aren't interested in. No one likes SJW's, but him complaining about them constantly, when they have nothing to do with the subject being discussed whatsoever, is beyond annoying. He's basically doing the exact same shit that they do by just looking for things to get angry about. This entire episode was nothing but you guys complaining about shit. Complaining about fucking Phantom of the Opera, which absolutely no one who watches this channel gives a shit about, complaining about Batman V. Superman and Ghostbusters, both movies people have been bitching about for a fucking year now that have no current relevance, Complaining about twitter, complaining about how everything is political, AND THEN IMMEDIATELY COMPLAINING ABOUT "Leftists", then complaining about how scientists are liberal. I didn't laugh or chuckle or even smile once during this entire thing. This is the first video on this channel that I have ever thumbed down. Kaya is just not funny or interesting or charming by any stretch of the imagination. He honestly just comes off as an edgy cunt who's edgy for the sake of being inflammatory and nothing else. He's reached a point where he isn't just annoying, but actually impacting the show to a massive negative degree. He's bringing the whole thing down. He went from being a person who I had sympathy for, (as he's clearly a good friend to Charlie and suffers pretty bad from depression, which I can empathize with. He used to have some video talking about how he and Charlie met when he was at a really low point and I felt for him a lot.) But now he's honestly just kind of a full blown asshole and I can't feel sorry for him anymore. I really hope you guys will try to reign him in and LET THE OTHER 3 PEOPLE (Especially Jackson and Charlie) have a chance to talk, or even do an episode or 2 without him. I get that he's your guys' friend and he's probably fun to talk to or whatever for you 3, but for the rest of us he's becoming pretty unlikable and just all around unpleasant.

The dude attacking the pedophiles isn't a hero. The child molesters in questions are people who have served sentences, deemed to be rehabilitated and are now attempting to re-integrate into society. You can't justify assault and robbery just because "they did bad things in the past" If a man I don't know has been convicted of murder, sent to jail and then released, sure I detest them for the crimes they have committed but that doesn't give me an excuse to now assault them. Vigilante justice leads to a slippery slope, do not support it. They have already been punished by the law, there is no need for people to take it into their own hands, and its slightly unsettling, but not surprising that Kaya takes joy in the pain of others

I dunno what their crimes or sentences were, but making a persons life hell AFTER they have already paid their dues is disgusting. I would understand if it was something like if the paedophile was a repeating offender without any obvious remorse, and they were somehow given a very short sentence or even released, but as the background of the VICTIMS wasn't given, I can only say that that vigilante is no hero anyone should look up to. Because imagine this situation; You're wrongfully accused somehow. You know that what they're accusing you of isn't true, or that those weren't your intentions at the time, but you can't afford a good lawyer and you end up somehow being found guilty. You're trapped in prison and everyone knows what you're in there for, making your daily life hell. Somehow, you survive five years in there, rejoicing at finally being free- but the world still hates you and knows you for your crimes. Then you end up in a hospital because some guy decided that you deserve more punishment.

Kaya's inspirational speech in the beginning really spoke to me. My goal is to enlist in the Army as 12B, but to get there you need to be really fit. Right now I am obese (200+ pounds), and he made me realize I need to get off my lazy ass. Thank you, Kaya.

The reason batman didnt kill superman was because super mans mom martha was about to be killed if superman didnt kill batman. So batman helps superman save his mom which isnt even a good reason to contradict what the movie is suppose to be especially if the part where they fight is only 5 minutes long.

Christine didn't fall in love with the Phantom. She thought he was the ghost of her father, which is why she took singing lessons from him. Erik [the Phantom] misunderstood this as a reciprocation of his romantic love for her. The Phantom kills the stagehand because 1. the manager ignored his request to cast Christine as the prima donna and 2. the stagehand knew too much about his residence in the theater, evidenced by his stories told to the ballerinas to scare them. The Phantom of the Opera is by no means a perfect musical or the best musical created, but I think it's more enjoyable when you fully understand the story.

Something they need to realize is that musicals don't have plots that make sense in general. Like Andrew said, they revolve around exaggerating trivial conflicts.

48:22 Jesus fuck, I hate that shit so much too! Especially when a webpage ad comes on and suddenly it's blasting it's audio at full god damn sea boiling volume. It almost always spazzes me out more than anything ever and makes me want to sneak into the house of whoever thought it was a good idea and suddenly blast them with their own ad audio while their sleeping so they know how I feel. If when I get old I become at risk for heart attacks and those ads still exist, they're gonna be the death of me. Granted, this happens cause I just set the overall Windows volume to about 33% and adjust in-program when needed, but ads should never have audio unless it's in a youtube-like format.
