I don’t often find something I disagree with Charlie on, but victimizing Valkyrae is one of them. She went on stream to read the names of people who comforted her, blatantly telling her rabid fans “don’t attack these people, anyone else who talks about Rflect is free game.” She then antagonized everyone who wasn’t a yes man, and aimed her fans like a gun. Her sticking by the company shows she isn’t being used, she’s actively promoting the BS despite backlash. She’s now joined the side of the scammers in attempting to sell a bogus product. Like someone getting scammed by an Indian call center then saying “hey, I like what you’re doing here. Involve me in the operation!” It’s understandable why Charlie needs to defend her in public, people are getting attacked by her stans just for just having a neutral stance. And Charlie is a non-confrontational person, who is acquainted with her, and thus her stans. TLDR, she isn’t the victim in this situation. The people who order this bogus product are.

She isn't the victim for sure. She got herself in this situation. But I definitely believe that she just made a series of complete fuck ups, but never actually meant to scam anyone. She's gullible and emotional, but she doesn't seem intentionally malicious. People on the internet can think a lot of things about her, but I don't pretend to know her better than other streamers and youtubers who actually know her. Everyone who actually knows her (like Charlie) say the same thing: She's gullible, not malicious. Being a random internet commenter pretending to know better than Charlie on this seems silly to me.

The reason people are angry is because they pushed out a product that lied which if you believed in the product, why would you get angry at rhe company? He then also said that it wasn't "that bad" compared to other things people have done as far as scamming goes, which seemed more like a back up argument. The Bible says in John 3:16-36 that whoever believes in the Lord Jesus Christ shall not perish but have everlasting life, the Bible also says in Romans 10:9 that those who declare with their mouth that Jesus Christ is their God, Lord, and Savior they shall be saved. Revelation 1:8 says that Jesus is the alpha and the omega. Luke and revelation is the ending times, and Jesus is returning back. So are you going to submit your life to him or no? Narrow is the path that leads to the gates of heaven, but only few people find it. The gates that is the path to destruction is where many people find it! Jesus loves you SO MUCH! This situation is a direct representation of why these rules are so paramount in gun safety.

Exactly at the end of the day, if you are holding a real firearm, no matter the context, you have to take the PERSONAL accountability to be safe with it. It sounds like he had no trigger discipline, and you should never rely on another person to tell you if a gun is unloaded. That kind of responsibility should be taken even MORE seriously in the context of a working condition that exhausts people and there had already been previous mishaps, otherwise the firearms just have no place being there whatsoever and they can sacrifice things not looking realistic on film. I believe Alec is just as responsible, (arguably more responsible because he was the last person who had that gun in his hands) because HE could have said “you know what, there’s been issues on this set before. We’re all tired, why risk taking a chance?” I don’t care if these actors don’t want to own guns personally, but if they are going to be handling real firearms in their line of work, they better take the personal responsibility to learn about the weapons they are holding. This entire situation is ridiculous.

@@juliab516 exactly, theres still a lot of info that hasnt be let out, but everyone agrees that negligence obviously caused this horrible accident. Hopefully some regulation on gun safety in a production comes out of this. whether it be government, insurance clauses, or some other form of set procedure that everyone follows 100% of the time. What sucks is that this isnt the only time something like this has happened in other instances during movie production and that there isnt already something like a universal protocol when it comes to gun safety in a production.

Been debating this with others and it surprises me how much resistance there is to the idea that an actor could be responsible for gun safety. Like it's too complicated and difficult in the context of all the other things he's busy doing. Like only a master armorer with years of experience can figure out whether X gun is loaded or not. Other than the obvious, which is to never have live ammo on sets, I think a reasonable policy would be to have some sort of gun expert on set at all times, and this expert trains each actor in how to check the guns they'll be using. Once the actor confirms they understand, the gun is their responsibility, and they can't touch it until they confirm. Of course even after confirming, they can ask the expert again later if they're ever unsure. The idea that someone can handle a gun but not be responsible for it seems so strange to me. The fact that they have a job to do doesn't let them off the hook. Lots of jobs require driving but you still have to take classes in how to drive.

Eh, sort of. Usually when firearms are modified to become film props (which in this case they CLEARLY weren't), it becomes damaging to fire live rounds. Basically they drill tap the barrel so specialized "plugs" can be threaded in, with different pin hole sizes to tune the gasses retained, so the gun can cycle properly. If you see footage of military training with blanks, you can see the large orange device that is attached to the front of the weapon that serves this same purpose, whilst being a visual indicator that the weapon is set up for training. While yes, blanks are dirtier and leave significantly more carbon buildup, they tend to just clean it at the end of the day. The last thing they would want is to convert it back to being capable of firing live rounds and forgetting to convert it back. Professionals in this field take EVERY precaution, unlike the dumb bitch that Baldwin hired.

When a small time movie company makes a movie, if they have a big time actor they will bring them on as a "producer" to give that actor creative freedom but at the end of of the day he is not the person in charge and he's not the the person who is hiring and firing actors and staff members. That being said he would have a lot leverage in getting what he wants being who he is and if he noticed unsafe practices he could be liable in civil court. But criminally speaking, he isn't the one liable. He was told by the director to rehearse pulling out his gun and pointing it at the camera. Let me say that again the director told him to point his gun in their direction. Everyone thought the gun was cold and they were not giving enough safety instructions by the armourer. At the end of the day it's the armourer / prop masters responsibly to not only make sure the guns are safe but also make sure actors are following the safety procedures they put in place.

I agree I also want to say though is anyone who holds a firearm should check it and clear it even if a “prop master” says it’s unloaded other wise your already negligent. It takes no effort to check a firearm also most actors get training and firearms handling and learn how to manipulate the firearm and how it functions for the most part. Also all prop guns are almost always just real guns that use blanks or purpose built guns that fire blanks. Lastly A fucking chimpanzee or 7 year old could tell the difference between a blank or a live round if it was explained they look so different and are easy to spot in fact if you look at casings in movies or shows you can see a crimp on where the bullet would be on a blank, go pause on a movie and you can see this or look at a TV show and you can google real round vs blank and you’ll see what I’m talking about. So yea there’s no excuse especially when a negligent discharge happens once already in the day the scene should be paused and all ammo and weapons inspected to make sure everything is ok. This to me should be manslaughter, it wasn’t on purpose but you only need to be negligent for manslaughter. I don’t make the rules but anyone else would have gotten manslaughter besides a celebrity so that’s kinda BS.

@@HeyJinx No matter how hard to gun to blame professionals, if Alec didn't know how to use a gun, he shouldn't have used one on set. Plain and simple. He (and every single person who is responsible for the final handling of the firearm) has the responsibility to check the chamber. I frankly don't care if he didn't know how to use a gun, and I don't care what etiquette the set has. The rules of gun safety, such as the rule I keep mentioning, has and forever will trump any propped up rule from any production studio. Failure to be in accordance to this rule can and will result in this exact occurrence.

I hate how people try to apply normal gun safety to a movie set because it doesn't apply. All 4 rules of gun safety are constantly broken on movie sets because you kinda have to to shoot a scene. Like hell look how many times actors point guns at people in hostage scenes ect. Because of this, to ensure safety, the job of ensuring the gun is cold is based on the armourer, I read theyre supposed to have a stringent check were one will check if the gun is cold, then pass it to another person who will also check if the gun is cold, and then its passed to the actor.

Fun fact about the drama of Riverdale. One of the seasons ended with Archie, Veronica, and Betty all taking their clothes off and burning them as a flash forward. The creators had no idea why they were burning them, it was just to build suspense for the next season. The actor who played Jughead though (Cole Sprouse) refused to take his clothes off due to how cold it was, so he spent the entire time in his trailer. This made one of the biggest plot points of the season happen simply because he didnt want to shoot the scene.

Literally, it wasn't. It was the people who handed him the gun. He has been on countless movies and handled countless guns where nothing ever happened because they did things right. At this point, it becomes second-hand nature. And when I go to a shooting range and the person hands me a gun, I trust that that person did everything properly. Alec holds almost no responsibility because he did what he was told by the people who are supposed to be responsible, same as if someone handed a magician a knife that should have been fake and that person did everything they were supposed to do for the trick and the knife killed someone; was that person supposed to stab something and make sure it was fake or trust the person? It's easy to blame the person after the fact because an accident happened without ever bringing up the issue when nothing happened hundreds of other times.

A real gun doesn't belong on set at all. The only way he is to blame is if he had anything to do with producing the props, or if he actually knew the gun was real and loaded.
