@@Kidgoo yeah it sucks that it takes me out of it, personally. I wish I felt the way you did! I love it so much, but the frame drops here and there make me frustrated because it takes me out. I end up looking at my settings even though I know they’re not high. I love the game, it’s freaking awesome and their latest patch helped the drops in windy areas for me, so that’s something! Hopefully more stability patches soon and I think it’s a sure 10/10 for me.

I'm someone that totally went into this game blind and only looked online after about 20 hours, and I had zero problems. The frame rate was fine, everything was great, I was having so much fun with the game. I've had one bug throughout the entire game, and that was me getting on my horse, the horse disappearing, and me dying shortly after, was very goofy and I had a good laugh. Outside of that, no bugs, no issues, nada

Only had frames drop by 10 a few times but nothing harmful. Had the horse mounting bug about 8 times. A REALLY annoying bug I got was missing a talisman slot. If you kill 2 of the main bosses, the old lady gives you a 2nd extra talisman slot (totalling to 3 slots). But if you kill 3 main bosses before talking to the old lady, you can no longer get the talisman slot.

I'm putting this here so it might get noticed. Look at the accounts of most of the people on metacritic giving Elden Ring a 0/10. You'll notice that most of them also give Horizon Forbidden West a 10/10. My theory is that Horizon fans are upset their game was overshadowed because it released a week before Elden Ring. Seriously go check some of them you'll without a doubt find a ton of accounts who have only reviewed Horizon and Elden Ring giving horizon a 10 and Elden Ring a 0 with no other activity

The remastered trilogy was a flop be rockstar weren't even the devs for that project. One of my favorite things about the game are that the game is both more accessible but still retains the dark souls feeling of discovery and you can make it as difficult as you'd like. The core mechanics are explained well but there are little things here and there that really add a lot to the world, fire does less damage in the rain for example. That's my favorite example of a neat mechanic that isn't flat out explained but can make a meaningful difference on how you approach an encounter once you notice it.

Elden Ring has known frame-rate and performance issues for some users. It's a fact (and valid criticism), and they're working on it. In my opinion the game is still Fromsoftware's masterpiece. It's the thematic, artistic, and mechanical culmination of 10+ years of making these titles, and the amount of content it provides will be fulfilling to fans and new fans for years.

yes abosultely it does. I do agree a lot with andrew tho that a lot of those problems come from people trying to run it on out of date hardware, pushing graphics settings to far, or other such issues. However, it is clear there is also some issues that are not at the fault of the user and i think those deserve criticism. But, such users only account for a very small portion of the playerbase so I dont think there problems should result in such review bombing, especially after the recent patch.

as a person who skipped the tutorial by mistake and never bothered to go back to it, learning the controls in actual situations is much more satisfying than the game telling you how to do stuff. ive never played a souls game besides dark souls (only the beginning) because i dont like the losing progress system im a person who hates losing progress but in elden ring its so easy to get runes that i dont even care about dying that much, making the gameplay much more enjoyable and fun.

Besides performance, the only things I don't really like are only minor things like not being able to open the map while enemies are chasing you and not being able to compare merchant gear to your current stuff. Magic balance is also a bit odd but other than that I love ER.

The only real criticisms I remember him mentioning is that he doesn't think a game with performance issues can be classed as perfect, and that he prefers the look of Bloodborn, of which he only played 2 hours so I don't understand why people are getting so butthurt when he clearly isn't invested in Fromsoft games anyway. And he started a discussion about how they gave Pokémon shit for being the same thing everytime, and that Andrew himself admitted that Fromsoft games all share similar story beats. That's literally it. Everything he said was pretty reasonable to me and I don't see how anyone could really get so offended by it.

GRAPHICS IN POKEMON ARE NOT IMPORTANT. I like how they say it looks bad while also telling us not to judge a game by its trailer. People are excited for scarlet and violet because it's the first mainline game in a while, it's the first FULLY open world Pokemon game, and it's going to combine PLA's new mechanics with Pokemon's traditional mechanics which people love. For the majority of the fan base, the graphics are not a concern, and they look better than the last four games we've gotten.

It really is an amazing game. Definitely one of my top five greatest games of all time. Top three if nostalgia is removed from consideration. Also, the technical problems are not nearly as bad as people are saying they are. I've gotten it to run on both of my computers, one of which had a mid tier graphics card and only 8gb of ram. If yours is chugging hard, you're doing something wrong.

I can confirm that even with the stutters on my 2060 i'm still having a blast with Elden Ring. It does desperately need patching though, like, my god. I don't know how something like metro exodus enhanced with raytracing active all the time can run circles around ER performance wise. For the time being i'm running nvidia image scaling 900p with 10% adaptive sharpen and that's shaved off a lot of bumps in the road. But it still just tanks no matter what you do in some scenarios unfortunately.

It's not about ignoring the technical flaws. A lot of us haven't seen any of these flaws. I'm playing on the X and it's been the smoothest AAA experience I've had in a long time. And honestly just recently getting back into PC gaming I was reminded why I stopped in the 1st place. Every game runs like trash until you fine tune the settings. So it's hard for me to blame devs when that's just the nature of PC gaming.

It's because battlefield 2042 even 3 months after its release is still a buggy mess and there's no enjoyable or new content till another 3 months plus EA's track record. FromSoft released a patch within the 1st week to fix most of the issues and even addressed the problems publicly and besides that the game has 100+ hours of content with tons of replay value at launch

I can help you to cheese the game a bit. You can google or search on KZbin where to find op spirit summons and then u can search where to find lvl 1,2 and 3 grave glovewort which is used to upgrade those spirit summons. Also you can search for smithing stone on google/youtube to upgrade your weapons. Just do some research to get strong and then u will be able to beat bosses cuz u will be very strong.

Mario sunshine had camera issues, weird difficulty scaling and other issues, that too is in my top 5. Ocarina of Time and Mario 64 are both called the greatest games of all time, and they're packed to the brim with jank.

I may be clouded by the hype right now, but Elden Ring may be better than the entire Souls series for me. Except Bloodborne. I think the world of Elden Ring and its visuals, and areas, and bosses, have capitalized on everything Souls has been good at over the past decade. Elden Ring is the epitome of Souls games. But I still think Bloodborne is my favorite. And if you prefer the narrative and setting from Bloodborne over Souls, Elden Ring is missing a lot of that. So BB remains my favorite, but I think Elden Ring wins over DS1 and DS3 for me. Also, what Jackson was saying about Bloodborne's performance: Andrew is right. Bloodborne isn't suffering from poor optimization, it's suffering from poor hardware. Bloodborne, more than any Souls game, is incredibly rich with high quality texture detail, and because of that, the anti-aliasing suffers, and so does the framerate. The decision to port the game for PS5 is probably out of FromSoft's control. I think Sony holds all the decisions for BB at the moment.

I think Elden Ring is definitely better for me than ANY Soulsborne game or Sekiro. Elden Ring is not only the best FromSoft game, but possibly the literal best game of all time. This game is legendary, a cultural phenomenon, and an instant classic. Open world games will be compared to Elden Ring for decades to come. I love Bloodborne, but Elden Ring shocked me. Utterly shocked me. I can't believe how much it surpassed my expectations, and I had extremely high expectations. You can say Bloodborne is a 10/10 game and I wouldn't disagree with you, but if so, then Elden Ring is an 11/10. It's just that good. ...But also please bring Bloodborne to PC lol

I haven’t seen anyone complaining about technical issues with Elden ring personally. I have some low end hardware. I’m still at 60fps at max settings and just below 1440p resolution.
