The context I’ve heard about that snow shovel neighbor dispute is that the killer had a wife who passed away from cancer and all throughout it the two others made the killer and his spouse’s life hell. That was literally the breaking point. It seems so trivial and shocking when you only see the last conflict, but it’s even more depressing knowing the whole story

After looking into the snow shoveling incident that Kaya brought up, it appears that the neighbors who got shot in the ordeal were like Kaya's neighbors in Turkey where they were just constant assholes. 37:46 "Age is different on their planet" You know, that was a plot point in a Green Lantern comic once. One of the human Green Lanterns, dont remember which one, had a brief relationship with a female alien green lantern. She was from a species with a long life span and was like 150-250 years old. The problem was that while she was way older than the human, she was still considered a teen by her species. So a lot of the other aliens of the lanthern corp were confronting and bad-mouthing the human for openly dating a 150 year old alien teenager.

So the guy that killed his neighbors from what I heard had problems with those 2 neighbors heckling and harassing him for years, and recently in terms of the time the video came out, his wife had died of cancer and that couple had known about it and had made comments about it which is what sparked the reaction he gave. Another reason shoplifting can affect everyone else is that a lot of stores will account for theft and increase their prices to make up for the loss. So in a lot of cases its actually the rest of us that end up paying more for the stock thats being stolen by others. Given that most of us are living paycheck to paycheck too, that actually affects us quite a lot.
@Nostalg1a
@Nostalg1a Жыл бұрын
That's just bs big surfaces give to increase prices and keep on cucking the populus. That would only be acceptable with local/small businesses, if you see the recent and astronomical profits of companies like Walmart in the last year you would start shoplifting too.

@@TheGreatestJediOfAllTime I said a lot of stores, not all stores, also gonna depend on which country you live in too.. Even with insurance though, if theft goes up, insurance rate goes up, and a lot of shops then bump the prices to make up the difference. @TheGreatestJediOfAllTime
@TheGreatestJediOfAllTime Жыл бұрын
@@MykoMethod Eh nah. Literally doesn’t happen unless its a mom and pop shop. Which your original comment is clearly not insinuating. Stores like walmart and Vons and whole foods are multibillion dollar conglomerates. An uptick in shoplifting does not raise their prices. Given i live is southern california where theres literally snatch and grab sprees like no other state, and no prices have increased at any major store in the three years its been going on so since covid started outside of the inflation every place is dealing with, so yeah no. You literally wont be charged if you steal under $900 out here and there still no price increases. So im gonna need you to get more specific. Name me the specific store and item that had a price increase. And how much did the price increase? Because incase you havent noticed theres major inflation right now so i need a pre covid example
@MykoMethod
@MykoMethod Жыл бұрын
@@TheGreatestJediOfAllTime lol what? You just said "literally doesnt happen UNLESS its a mom/pop store" which only confirms what i just said - that it does happen. The majority of business across the world are small independent ones. So at one point you read "stores" and wildly assumed i must only be talking about multi billion companies... that's a mistake you made, not me my friend. Try imagining a world outside of America, with stores that arnt owned exclusively by billionaires... Those stores have insurance policies too, except if theft rises, so does their insurance, which increases the cost of business, ultimately increases their prices... it really doesn't get more common sense than this. A store can be anything from a small market stall, to a independent business, to a giant multi billion franchise... So yes, of course it happens.. When I talk about stores, i'm not exclusively talking about multi million pound franchises, especially not companies like walmart which dont typically exist outside of that one country. What part of my comment insinuates i meant major conglomerates when i actually just said "stores" .. you're really stretching to argue this arnt you? Thanks for at least agreeing that it does happen in most other stores though, wether you meant to or not lol.

the examples jackson and andrew bring up at the beginning aren’t really what we talk about when we talk about dealing with confrontation though. complaining to a service worker whose ability to argue is severely limited isn’t the same as getting into it with someone on more equal footing, such as a friend, relative, lover, random stranger, etc. It’s not really an argument or a debate, which is what we’re generally talking about when we ask someone how they do with confrontation. not that they’re completely invalid examples, but someone who loves complaining to workers/managers may fold when presented with someone who can really argue/fight back (e.g. the neighbor jackson cites in his own situation). i know such people and i wouldn’t say they actually like confrontation.

On the topic of confrontation, I have a recent example of a woman and her husband sitting right next to me and my sister at an almost empty movie theater. The woman even cracked a joke about it as she was taking the seat so she knew what she was doing. I have truly found that 80% of the time, it is not worth arguing or talking to these people. More times than not, there will no understanding of the situation and it causes even more drama. The couple gave us nasty looks as we got up and moved over a seat, but it really felt like the only option that wouldn't ruin our movie experience. My family rarely goes out because of how much we hate the people in our community, and it is in Florida btw.

I don't feel bad when someone shoplifts from big chain stores. I don't condone stealing in general, if you can help it. But I'm not going to shed tears over a company that makes multiple billion dollars a year Also stealing from individuals is scum
@marksmanmerc1

It's not the company but the effects it has on everyone else. These companies operate on pretty low margins and rely on volume for profit so theft effects them a lot more. So theft will just force them to leave and fuck everyone that was depending on their low prices to survive.

8:41 As a person who smoked a ton of weed as a teenager, you do the classic dryer sheet on an empty toilet paper roll rubber banded on one end to mask the smoke smell. The classical listerine mouth wash does wonders; and a switch of clothes to get rid of your personal stank. Thats how the potheads at my school did it, but it was essential we had an open campus

I've lived in the same apartment for like 5 years, and had an asian couple move in like half a year. Despite the fact that the two of them were both like 5 foot 5 and thin, they walked like thundering giants. I'm guessing it was flat-footedness or something, but every step they would take would rattle all the plates in my cabinets, frame pictures would fall off my walls, it was like an earth quake. For some reason they also seemed to pace up and down the apartment for hours at a time, my assumption here was that they were probably on the phone with family and pacing while walking. After a few months of trying to just live it, I finally snapped. I took videos and recordings to show just how bad it was, went upstairs and asked them to be more mindful. They were in a hurry to get out of the house so they didn't stop to listen to me. That night it continued. I went upstairs again, seeing as how they didn't make time for me in the morning, and asked again. They got extremely offended and told me essentially there's nothing they can do. I went back to my apartment and heard them yelling about how 'that was so uncalled for' and how I was fucked up and targeting them. And then, all of a sudden, the noise stopped. I can hear them walking now, but its roughly 1/10th the sound it was before. Still the loudest neighbors I've ever had, but I am mindblown that somehow they ended up actually changing their ways and being more mindful. The funniest thing is I had a girl over for a movie and she pointed out how loud my upstairs neighbors are I, and I had to chuckle at the fact she considered their 10% loud lol. I wonder what someone else would have said about the daily 6 hour 8 magnitude earthquake I endued for months.

his point about stealing was so stupid. so a homeless person steals something from a store like bread or a chocolate bar that means everyone is going to start stealing and thus the end of civilisation as we know it?! bro just shutup, your takes are 1 dimensional. it's also not the job of a shop floor worker to chase after criminals and do the job of police/security.

So I actually cut a cop who knows the department that handled that situation with shooting. It was in upstate PA I believe and apparently they had issues prior to that incident. Apparently the neighbors were harassing the guy multiple times throughout the year and so the guy decides to not shovel their yard when it snows. Eventually they get into a big altercation and then the guy shoots them and empties his pistol. After that he then gets his AR I believe and then empties that, after that he goes to his house and shoots himself with the same AR. He showed me pictures of the guy after the deleted himself, shit was nuts.

33:17 So, if a Muslim person can't afford food, they do not deserve to abide by the dietary restrictions of their religion. I.e., the poor do not have freedom of religion? Bad takes, guys. This sounds super privileged and out of touch with the struggles of the poor and working class people. The economy is really bad out there for regular folks. I don't think they understand this.
