I'm 74. I live alone. in a house that is 900 sq. feet. You can only be in one room at a time, so as long as there's a good sized window to let in some light and I have access to my vehicle when I want to go out to the store, church, or visit with a friend, that's all I need. I'm sure your mom will let you know if anything doesn't suit her. And, hey! It's only temporary. I'd be thankful my children were looking out for me. Many elderly parents are in assisted living and never even see their kids.

I'm closing in on 70 and my trailer is 756 sq foot. Two bedrooms, bath, 12 X15 dining room and same size living room. Your house is not that small and neither is mine.

I'm sure (or at least I would hope) that this was all discussed as a temporary situation. Nope to moving the sink, you’ll need it for doing flowers or vegetables even, especially if you’re using it to freeze dry foods! Think it through.

I was thinking it’s too little to be dark inside. It needs to be lighter to make it look bigger. I would feel claustrophobic in there. I definitely need more windows. A camper would be my preference but that’s just for me and my opinion!

Definitely get rid of the beat up wood and rusted tin on the inside, and replace with something lighter and brighter. The house looks very practical and the space well used, just that the inside is FAR from esthetically pleasing. Rip out all the old, dark stuff and lighten things up. Then it will be perfect.

They don't plan on resoing the inside at this time while they are trying to build two houses.. but maybe if they keep it in the future those are great ideas

No! That barn wood is beautiful and I bet it's helping to maintain a regulated echo free temperature year round ... like barns do. Even in Florida my barn was comfortable. That tiny house is perfect!

The tiny house is AMAZING!! I'm positive with the electric, plumbing, etc. done it will be ready for Mom to move her things in to make it like home. You guys did a great job filming to show us even though you only had 1 shop light! Great job. Love to see the changes and how things are progressing. It warms my heart to see how well you care for Brooke's mom and integrate her needs into your busy life too. Family is everything and that is just who you guys are. I can see the tiny house becoming an office, studio, and place for guests too! Great find and inspiration for others to make a small living space for themselves too!

A white ceiling would reflect light and really brighten things up. My house (fixer upper) had dark paneling in the bedrooms, including the ceiling, which made it kinda gloomy. Painting the paneling flat white made all the difference. Maybe, since you're leaving Cogg Hill behind pretty soon, you could call the new Cogg 40 Cogg Meadows Farm.

The tiny house has so much potential...my grandpa built a tiny home/ deer camp for us grandkids...basic shell with a loft for sleeping...we used thin pine boards for ceiling...gray stained boards for floors and some reclaimed pallet boards for the bathroom( toilet and sink)...we painted the walls like an off white/eggshell just for easy cleaning...three twin mattresses in loft and a bunch of air mattresses...great memories just going there and the shananagines we had...a few deer now and then too...Cheers from Maine.

I love the tiny house except the darkness. I realize you don't have lights on yet but all that dark wood would mean I would be lightening it up with white or gray paint. We're turning our vacation home in Pa into our retirement home and have gutted it, added more windows because it was so dark with all the dark wood that I found it somewhat depressing. Your idea of moving into it after your Mom moves into her house and selling the trailer is an excellent idea. There is a huge demand for travel trailers in the tri-state area so you might want to extend your ads to this area. Good luck with the next stage in your lives!

The tiny house will be much better than a camper. When I stayed in my camper I was taking my dachshund to the vet. I had her in a small kennel. As I was walking down the stairs she shifted and we both fell to the ground! I managed to turn and land on my left side. I was sore for weeks and thought I had broken my wrist. I was 62 years old. God blessed me with falling the right way. I am not fond of camper stairs.. Maybe hang a curtain between the washer/dryer and the bed. That big washer/dryer would scare me if I opened my eyes at night. I would think someone was standing there 😳. Just a thought. She will love the tiny house because it will feel so cozy.
