I somehow have a Love/Hate Relation with this Game. Was so proud when i bought this Game back on the N64, only to have it finished on the same Day i bought it. It has such small content. Yeah, the second problem with it is that it doesn´t even save anything. No Progress, no Highscores, nothing! To unlock the two hidden Fighters you even need to enter a code at the Start Screen. But the Characters were really cool and the music so too (which was even better on it´s PC Version).

I owned this as a a kid when it first came out, and while I didn't play it all that much, I do remember having a deep appreciation for the aesthetic. It had a cohesive visual vibe that I still dig even now watching this video. The backdrops are beautiful - the futuristic military base with the satellite dishes seen here at 16:41 is one that I found particularly appealing. Despite the game's lackluster mechanics, I have to give the designers their due for their creativity.

This takes me back. Got this as a birthday gift from my big brother during the GameCube era, so I’m guessing this was his game and was throwing things away. Zenmuron was the only character I played but I never reached to Sonork. Only thing I remember of this game growing up is Zenmuron’s theme as I hum the song to work.
@ShaunTheCHB3 жыл бұрын
I love this game despite it's roughness. Absolutely, the controls could have been leaps and bounds smoother. Gameplay was not the best. But the soundtrack, characters and backgrounds really stand out for me. Morphix I remember being really freaky with how his body flowed around. Zenmuron's stage, the giant Anubis in the dark cyber like background and the statues with the somewhat sad theme music, it gave off so much mystery to the character. Those are fond memories I have of this game. If they had just fixed up the gameplay, it could have done really well.

If you want awful fighting games, though not sure if this technically falls under "professional" release as the DOS era was wierd. Catfight is a game....not sure actually if I even give it that accolade. Best part is this quote from pc gamer at the time "so bad, being caught masturbating to it would actually be less embarrassing than being caught playing it." Or Human Killing Machine which is a little more competent than catfight but not much more.

This is one of those weird games I'll always defend to my dying breath (along with Pepsiman). It wasn't "good" and it's not a hidden gem that will suddenly change the face of the fighting scene, but it was way more fun than it looks. The fighting system is broken in a very charming way and the contact combos are just a joy to pull off (specially with Morphix and Eve). I have finished this one with every character on hard in the past. Yes, it's as painful as it sounds. I still had an absolute blast!
@feverdreams173 жыл бұрын
Zenmuron was my main. also his attack sounds did NOT match his design for me. So it was hilarious.
@Kdub1V3G4C3 жыл бұрын
Go fight Demitron on hard! He makes you play the game completely differently. You learn to more or less poke rather than perform full-fledged combos since they aren't as easily countered (especially if they include a throw). Zenmuron's combos and kicks are awesome, but Sonork is just stupidly good when you get to play as him. Don't forget to double-tap that ground hit when they get knocked down, either; the damage adds up. Aaron's projectiles are probably the best of the main cast. His grenade burst hits the sidesteppers and has amazing range, while the gun hits multiple times (although Sonork's gun is four shots of broken). I much prefer Mace over this game, but playing someone who knows what they're doing in this game has potential. It becomes a Tekken/Soul Calibur thing (and yes, there are overheads, lows, and probably mids, too :).

@Coyoda3 жыл бұрын
ahaaa. I'm actually very thankful for you going through the training and explaining how things work. Really, I was confused at first when trying this at a friend's place. There was this nintendo power magazine, I think the one with star fox on the front, can't remember the issue number...that one had a move list for the characters and there were some huge chains that I felt had to be a mistake or something. So your mention to Tekken's 10 hit combo chains has me a bit interested in how some of these long combos would look. I believe it was Niki specifically who had the huge chains. Love your mention to Flying Dragon and Fighter's Destiny. Those are favorites of mine on the 64. But one day, you gotta check out SD Hiryu no Ken Densetsu, the sequel on flying dragon. I think you'd really like it. (I did quite an amount of videos on my old channel and some other stuff.)
