Yeah they don't go lecturing about massive changes in society or singing apologetics for some sort of ideology. They instead target day-to-day events that a common man/youth can personally relate to and communicate like an equal.

same i’m 46 and between overdoses,cancer,suicide and my bff who died trying to stop drinking without medical help it’s like there only a few of us from our circle left. I settled down with the partying at 33 when I got pregnant thank goodness just a little 🔥🌿 for medicinal purposes keeps me from drinking & pills etc

Life is a rich mans game stick together and help each other, think outside the box and make life just that little bit easier less we all go mad and suffer the same fates.

This song came out while I was a senior in high school. It reminds me of this guy I hung out with who got me into anime. I traded him a pack of cigarettes for a cheap wakizashi which I still have. It's funny how songs can remind you of such specific things.

So, if you like this song, there are two earlier songs by other bands that have a similar theme. The first is "People Who Died" by Jim Carroll, and the second is "Pepper" by the Butthole Surfers. Both are about reminiscing on lost friends, and both are in this pop-punk style.

I always loved that song. I do like The Offspring version far more than the FFDP cover. For years, I would hear the chorus in my head and think it was a Tears For Fears song to the point where I was trying to find it in the TFF catalog and couldn't, but eventually, I found it and discovered that it was The Offspring. Amazing song.

WHAT A MESSAGE! I was in my late 20s then it came out. I experienced ones I knew that ended up in the same tragic situations. Who knows? If I didn't have strong parents and religious beliefs, I could have ended up as another tragedy. Today, the message is even clearer. I also remember this song from the movie "The Faculty." If you haven't seen it and like alien, body snatcher, movies, you'll like it!

I think my favorite Offspring hit was ‘Come out and play’ (you gotta keep them separated). Incredible thrashing And then a little middle eastern riff, but then the message smacks you right in the face! I didn’t hear them until I moved to Oregon. That thrash punk was popular with the skateboarding crews and box bikers. I doubt I would have heard them if I didn’t work in advertising. Keeps you young and I was in my 40s by then. But I had loved punk in the 70s/80s. I wasn’t about to miss out on them once I heard them

I know of one guy committed suicide (shot him self) wile on the phone with him mother, another guy did of a heart attack (probably drug related). This was early to mid 2000’s.
