This song really hits you when you’re in your 30’s. Seeing how our “friends” and real friends are after you’ve known them for 20 years. I’ve seen the worst and I have also seen the best. Cherish those young years.

I'm going on 30, and this song definitely feels way different than at 15. People I know from school have been murdered or murdered someone, died in car crashes, become addicts, gone through several marriages and had kids they weren't ready for. It all starts to hit you really hard.

I remember listening to this at 16 and I didn't really get it. Now I'm 37 I've got it for quite a while. I didn't really appreciate how fragile people's lives are and how they can change direction so quickly. Of all my friends I was all set to be the big career man in my early 20s and now I'm mediocre... I'm happy though. A couple of friends who made a lot of risky decisions (drugs, drinking, fighting, being stupid) have done REALLY well. Geniuses in college have ended up doing dead end jobs. It's all a big roulette because the situations we're in dictate our decisions we make at the time which in turn affects our future and it can spiral up or down.

I have an 18yo daughter to listens mainly to mainstream pop, but occasionally likes my “old man music”. Mind you I’m 43 with a severe liking of classic rock. She gets a kick out of little stories and bits of relevant information. I really like when she says “Hey, check this out ...” and it’s a cover from a classic rock or alternative song. When I show her the original, the look on her face is priceless. Congrats on being the coolest dad on KZbin. Keep it up sir.

This channel is great, I love the fact that the kids are included, I don't have kids but if I did I'd be doing the exact same thing, probably not on KZbin though. Please do the prodigy " firestarter " or maybe " breathe " one of the first electronic acts to cross over and win over alternative music fans. They've got a ton of songs to choose from but these two seem to have the biggest impact on a heavy listening audience. Keep up the great work, Love from Australia!

I find it funny people get upset when a teenager is drinking coffee. Children, prepubescent kids, drink one pop after another. It has caffeine, too. Learn to think, folks. I notice Annie is an introvert. She's very shy on camera, and I suppose this is why she says she gets stressed out during the Q&As, especially when dad is seemingly loud. Not intending to point out a flaw, it's simply the way some people are. I'm an introvert, so I can relate. And very attentive, in many situations. I see her as very different from her dad. She seems introspective instead of a party animal type, the characteristics of her dad. I think this is why many people like her so much. There's a dynamic between the two spectrums of behavior and thought. Very good reaction. Though I don't feel the music video is as well made as others seem to view it. Probably due to my own idea of what it would be like to place images and music together; I'd have chosen a less whacky style of visuals. Still, I enjoy your own thoughts, and your daughter's. Edit: I forgot to ask you and your daughter to react to "Wynonna's Big Brown Beaver" by Primus.

As a high school teacher, if you want to learn just how smart your daughter is, don't tell her anything. Just ask questions that cannot be answered with "yes" or "no." You told her everything to think and then asked her if she would listen to the song (yes) (which would make my dad happy because he likes this song). This could've been a great learning moment (why "yes"?). Otherwise, loved the father/daughter time together and love the song.

I had no idea he was from the same city I'm from, and that makes a lot of sense. I've experienced the same thing as in this song. The only kids who are now "successful" adults are kids who had relatively "healthy" families, and those were few and far between for a lot of us. As kids, we all had dreams but had no idea how poorly we were situated to actually succeed in life because of how our childhoods were. Also, at that time, the city was actually one of the "better" cities in that area with less crime, less poverty, etc. Imagine what adult lives were like for those from the other nearby cities.

Just for the aspect of coffee.... I'm from Brazil, more specifically from the very very south. We drink Mate(has caffeine) since the moment we open our eyes, my mother gave us milk and coffee as breakfest, even public schools give you milk and coffee. Our standtards are based at max on the borders of our knowledge, and to continental self isolated countries like ours is normal to know just it. But relax, I know we kinda need to justify it to the main audiance and stuff, but it's all good. All brazilian are healthy drinking coffee since young age, It's amazing experience all types of music. But experience the cultural differences is absolutely mindblowing and amazing. Cheers man!
