@@youmeandytv in Chicagoland on fox32 on Saturdays i got exposed to dbz around 98 i was a freshman in high school ..the ocean dub and the kaioken x3 was and still is iconic...eventhough the the ocean dub was heavily edited the voice actors were so professional and sounded so convincing....not to mention the ocean dub soundtrack by shuki levy was legendary ...bruce faulconer was definitely inspired by it...but Ian James corlett set the tone for English Goku

USA guy here, but this was the first english dub I watched. Without a question, the best Goku we had in English. Damn shame he didn't get paid for the yells because they were also the best we got. I remember when his voice changed I was pissed.

Thank you. I don't know why people think Sean Schemmel is the first actor to voice Goku. If you grew up in the 90s specially in 1996 he was the original OG voice of Goku.

That was Peter Kelamis who voiced Goku in the Oceans Dub of the DBZ films like World’s Strongest and Tree of Might who also voiced Rolf. Ian James Corlett voiced Goku from the Saiyan Saga to the early Namek Saga in the Oceans Dub before Funimation’s in house group took over. Ian James Corlett also voiced Mega Man in the Ruby Spears cartoon as well as Cheetor in Transformers Beast Wars to name a few.

Oh that's so evil to micro-manage the clauses in voice-work for a MARTIAL ARTS series. Of course the majority of the dialogue is going to be screaming and grunts! Horrible, and we lost a great Goku because of it.
