Unfortunately we don’t have a clean, safe, cheap, renewable source of energy yet. The renewal energy sources at our disposal are discontinue, there is not always light, wind, tide, water in the dams. Nuclear energy is not renewable, is not cheap and it is very risky. But there is a lot that can be done to consume as less oil as possible. We can cover all our roofs with solar panels; we can use old industrial area to host wind turbines; we can better use the geothermal energy; we can use the tides and the weaves to produce energy. Our governments should hugely invest on the public transport to make owning and using a car dispensable. This pandemia has dimostrate that most office jobs can be done from home, so we don’t have to consume energy to reach our job places and go back home. All those hundred of billions of barrels of oil that are still underground will end up in the air, in the water, in the soil and it will finish poisoning our planet and ourselves. We need to change our habits when we do shopping, we have to buy as much local as possible and just those products made respecting the environment, the people and the animals. The economical, political and military elites won’t change their behaviour because are too greedy, too thirsty for power to do that. We people, we consumers, we citizens, we voters can do much to change things.

Stahl refers to former President Obama as Mr Obama and former President Bush as President Bush. It’s the little things like this that turns me off of 60 minutes. Microaggressions 😮

HABIBI. IM DISCONTENT. I DISCOVERED THAT COUNTRIES R INVESTING ON OIL DIGGING IN EXCHANGE FOR CHEAP OIL. THOSE DAYS R OVER HABIBI. OIL WILL RUN OUT ONE DAY. FROM NOW ON USE UR NEW INVESTMENT MONEY IE THE DUBAI SUKUK PROFITS TO INVEST IN UR OWN OIL DIGS, KEEP IT IN THE LEAGUE. MAKE SURE U UNDERSTAND THIS AS IT WILL PROVE BENEFICIAL IN THE FUTURE.

Natural gas is more of an export in the United States. Shale production and fracking is more economically viable, but that comes with drawbacks.
