@Baylee Jae I don’t know if you know this but there is a medium called Gloss Glazing liquid by the brand GOLDEN to help you blend, slow dry, and glaze acrylic paint to make it work like oils. Acrylic paint is so versatile so it can act like any paint if you have the right kind of mediums. Also if you want to ever let acrylics act like watercolors to create a staining affect you can use an absorbent ground also by the brand GOLDEN and apply it on top of the surface you are using.

I prefer to use oils instead of taking extra time to make acrylic act like oils. I just like oils better, haha.

Well this seams much smarter than my method of; trying to eyeball my sketch onto a huge ass canvas it coming out terribly repainting my sketch crying bc it came out terrible again then putting my sketch over top of my crappy painting in procreate to figure out where I went wrong, screwing it up again crying bc I’m obviously a failure and then somehow fixing it after and realizing I over reacted 🙂
@crystalngo19494 жыл бұрын
You could also scribble all over the back of the sketch with pencil or graphite once you've resized it. And then put the paper on top of your canvas and transfer the sketch by tracing over your lines

Oh Baylee! You should always finish your acrylic layers before you start with your oil layers, the acrylic will dry and your oils will lay on top of them, your oil paints will be wet when you try to add more acrylic and they will NEVER CURE because the acrylic will seal off the oil paints from the air. The way oils cure is through oxidation and it takes soooooo looooong! Well please be sure to take photos of your finished paintings they might be to big to scan, unless you have access to a larger format scanner? I wish you the best of luck, I feel you may need it! Have a lovely day!

Hello 👋🏼 it’s been a minute since I’ve seen one of your videos. Love love love those paintings! Ive always loved your work. I really don’t like youtube’s algorithm anymore. It’s just never been as good as it was b4 smh. Also: About that chair ... I’m curious, is it comfortable? Like sitting in it for a while drawing or painting or whatever does your back ever get sore or does the head part make your neck uncomfortable or anything? I’d like to know because I’m thinking about getting one or one like it but I have to order online to get it.
@BayleeJae4 жыл бұрын
Welcome back! The chair has actually helped me a lot. With art, I still hunch a lot, but overall it has helped my back, especially when sitting at my desks for long periods of time. The neck pillow can be removed if you don't like it. The lumbar pillow is a game changer though.
@fairylovr334 жыл бұрын
Baylee Jae oh thank you so much. Yes I really like their appearance (of course) but I just didn’t know if it was comfy. And yeah I sit for long periods of time as well and right now my chair is definitely 👎 very uncomfortable even after sitting for just maybe 10-15 min I start stretching and leaning and twisting lol. So thank you so much 😊

I've never really gotten the medium of oil, whether it be paint or pastels. When I first tried it i flipped my brush over naturally which you can't do cuz it has another shade on it where as acrylic doesn't so you can flip the brush over and keep painting.

Those nylon synthetic brushes are too soft for oils! You'd struggle less with dry or sticky paint if your brushes were harder. In traditional oils hog brushes are used since you're using water-soluble oils you should stick with synthetics, just stiffer ones! (Hog brushes become soggy when they get wet)
@BayleeJae4 жыл бұрын
I have a mix. I like soft ones for blending, especially when dry.

I did oil painting in high school, Baylee. It was messy and hard. After I finished painting with oils, I never wanted to do oil painting again. I’m more of an acrylic and watercolour painter. Oooooh, that’s not a snack, Baylee, that’s a silica pack. DO NOT EAT!
@liamwatson51254 жыл бұрын
