The Oklahoma City Thunder and the San Antonio Spurs are on the verge of becoming the next dynasties to rule the NBA. The Spurs have a generational big man in Victor Wembanyama and the Thunder have a young MVP contender and all-star in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. This NBA offseason, the league has implemented the second apron, which has influenced teams like the Warriors to trade Klay Thompson, the Clippers to let Paul George walk in free agency, and LeBron James to accept a below-max contract. The entire Nba is trying to avoid the second apron but the Thunder and Spurs might have a plan to succeed and win championships despite the new restrictions.
OKC and San Antonio have already made some interesting trades and signings this offseason, the Thunder traded Josh Giddey for Alex Caruso, and they also signed Isaiah Hartenstein to a 3-year deal. The Spurs on the other hand have traded for Harrison Barnes and have signed Chris Paul as well. San Antonio's young core already consists of Victor Wembanyama, Devin Vassell, Stephon Castle, Jeremy Sochan, and Keldon Johsnon. OKC also has a young core of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams, Chet Holmgren, Lu Dort, Cason Wallace, and Nikola Topic. But in addition, the Thunder and Spurs also own a ton of first round picks and pick swaps that can help them overcome the NBAs new rules.
Victor Wembanyama has led France to the gold medal match in the Olympics against Team USA. He will carry his experience to the Spurs next season where he will be catching lobs from Chris Paul. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and team Canada lost but he will be going for another MVP season with Oklahoma City. The question is, what else will OKC and San Antonio do in the trade market and in free agency? Lauri Markkanen has signed a long-term deal with the Utah Jazz and the Warriors failed to land him. But can the Spurs or Thunder trade for him next offseason? Can the OKC Thunder and the San Antonio Spurs really build dynasties in the modern NBA?

Teams should be allowed to take a percentage of the players salary of the cap if they draft the player. This would encourage teams to draft right and to hold onto their players by being able to pay them more and go over the cap.

I now have a way to show people who are still butthurt about the Spurs trading away the second high draft pick earlier for the swap in 2031. You explain it wonderfully! You have earned both a thumbs-up and a Subscribe from me!

Next Draft will be so interesting for OKC because they have like 4 or 5 first round picks in the 2025 draft which is going to be so STACKED with talent and they have one of the clippers picks and if the clippers are down right BAD next season which as a laker fan u love to see. I'm not saying this will happen for the thunder but if they can at least land in the top 4 ranger in the next draft with them clips picks... the thunder are going to be nasty.... Idk if this is possible but if there are any thunder fans who think this could be possible for your team next draft Y'ALL are lucky AF

If you think about Popvich age and timeline, you will not expect they to build like this, but it's perfect for the team. They have a lot of picks in 2025 draft (the best in recent years) and they have the flexibility and youth to tank a few more seasons.

The Spurs still have the same main core of their management team from the dynasty era still in office. Unlike the Thunder, the Spurs have already shown to be able to adapt and succeed with winning championships in any era. Sam presti is a good GM but he isn't a great one since he always ends up losing his superstars/title contending teams and has no championships to show for them since he's been with Okc from 2007 to today. So if i was a betting man i'd put my money on the Spurs organization to succeed with this new blueprint idea you mention within the video.

Exactly Sam Presti is the one who traded James Harden because he did not want to pay him. When J Dub and Chet becomes too expensive he will ship them out to another team that always how he operates. Believe Presti only wanted to give Harden a 4 years 52 million dollar extension and the rockets gave him a 5 year 80 million extension. Presti is such a joke 3 million dollars a year difference really. Guess money is more important to him that winning because any good thing that ever happened to OKC he find a way to screw it up.

@@Fawnswinethe harden trade was more of an ownership thing really. Owners were still paying for buying the team at the time so they couldn't keep both ibaka and harden. Otherwise they would've because OKC ownership hasn't been known to be cheap besides the early years (OKC was in the top 10 teams by luxury tax paid for the last 12 years). OKC also added George Kaiser to ownership with a 20% stake and he's worth billions. OKC is contending and ownership will definitely pay to keep a contender alive. Another thing that never gets mentioned with that trade is that harden wanted out to be the guy on his own team. After the 2012 finals he went partying for like a week and basically checked out. There was also a rumor harden was trying to sleep with ibakas girl in 2012. Anyways I doubt harden would've been as good with the thunder because he requires the ball in his hands constantly and he couldn't do that with Westbrook and KD on the team. Presti has done a great job besides one fuck up(not really a fuck up OKC was better without harden and would've gotten better if KD didn't bitch out). Name one time other than the harden trade presti has done a bad job I'll wait. As for JDub and Chet did you even watch the video?😂Chet, Shai and Jdub are able to have max contracts. They're also gonna be able to pay out 1 or 2 guys to mid sized deals. Not to mention the big 3 really like it in OKC so I wouldn't be surprised if they take less like how the Knicks have been doing. It's filling out the rest roster that's the problem which is mitigated by draft picks.

@@get1012ful Still thats not an excuse. OKC just went to the finals with a 23 year old KD, 23 year old westbrook and 22 year old harden and Sam Presti brook that up. What have Sam Presti ever did good for OKC since he took over as GM in 2007. OKC been to 1 NBA Finals and 0 champtionships.

A better take is Wemby might break the NBA & still the Thunder have built a team that just happens to be built perfectly to slow down Wemby. While also being built to slow down AntMan & Luka(Caruso & iHart)
