A stronger UV Torch may be used in other videos to cure the resin faster.

Why pt for the tail wouldn’t cdl be a better choice for the 18?

You could do a cdl tail for this fly too. It's all preference really. I sometimes put PT tails on flies for a more pronounced tail.
