My favorites in the Expanse are women and they are badass but here is the catch. They make the story better and none of what they do has any bearing on gender. Apply that filter to mad max fury road. Damn I made you see the manipulation. FYI I saw Mad Max fury road and noticed none of this years ago. We are slowly being programed and if you still do not see it then grats they have succeeded.

The fluidity of their fighting style was gorgeous and so satisfying to watch. Really well done. The new take on action really stand out among the plethora of actions movies. Also, it is surprisingly substantial for an action movie, each character was characterized really well. Story was pretty good too. OK Netflix, when's the second one coming out?

Kudos to Charlize Theron and other cast members for enduring the training and choreography , and I applaud the producers for wanting the actresses and actors in this film to be subject to this training. The action genre, lately, is inundated with films that substitute shaky camera work, quick edits, darkly lit scenes, and obnoxiously close shots for well shot and well choreographed action sequences, so as to obscure the lack of training of the cast as well as the shortcomings in the cinematography. If you are going to promote a film as an action film, then it makes sense that the thing that should be the most notable is the ACTION! If you are not willing to take the time to train the actor/actress in action choreography, and if you as a filmmaker are not prepared to use a wide angle, clearly shot, and well lit footage to film that action scene, get out of the action business! Thank you all for taking the genre of film that you are in seriously.

Agreed. There's little else I dislike more in a movie fight scene than the now common 'shaky cam', which is a crutch to stand on when the director doesn't trust that the fight choreography will hold up to audience scrutiny.

I knew I was gonna like this movie, I had no idea how much I was gonna love it. The whole gang were incredible and I completely fell in love with Kiki. Apparently the director wants to make a trilogy, I really hope that gets to happen. And really hats off to the fight choreographers, the bits where they're fighting and shielding at the same time was excellent and the way they got the team so well rehearsed that you feel like they really do know exactly how each other fight to the point where they can riff off each other like that was just great 10/10

This film was perfect in every way! I haven’t enjoyed an action film like that since Mad Max Fury Road! Charlize has always been my favorite female action star but this film solidified her in the spot for sure! A perfect script with gorgeous acting and incredible fighting! The story is fascinating and inthralling and I haven’t enjoyed something that much in a long while! I would critique the scene, shown in the trailer, where they get show down and then the attackers just sort of stand there when they get back up. I think the attackers would have seen enough zombie movies to just start firing after a small pause. The scene follows from the comic book way of taking turns in action panels, but does not work so well on screen. I would have had the deads first action be to sneak out a couple of grenades and smoke while still lying on the floor. Then use the chaos from that to get back up.

the fight on the plane was the best combat i've ever seen. It really did feel like she was using moves that nobody has ever used, and she did them in such a way that made it feel like she was just messing around with her. There was this one move where she takes Niles arm after a punch, and then lifts her face with her other hand to cup her chin... i'm sitting there like...brah what martial arts is that? It was so smooth.
