In brief: The video is a film adaptation of Ernest Hemingway's "The Old Man and The Sea." The story revolves around Santiago, an aging and skilled fisherman who is struggling with a prolonged unlucky streak. He hasn't caught a fish for 84 days and is ostracized by his community and labeled as unlucky. Despite his bad luck, a young boy named Manolo believes in Santiago's skills and cares for him. In the video, Santiago embarks on a fishing expedition, hoping to end his unlucky streak. He hooks a giant marlin, and a great struggle ensues. The fish drags Santiago further out to sea, and the old man spends days trying to catch the marlin, talking to himself and the fish, and reflecting on his life, his love for baseball, and his young friend Manolo. Despite the physical and mental toll, Santiago is determined to catch the marlin. He reflects on his life, his lost wife, and his love for the sea and fishing. He considers the marlin his brother in the struggle and admires the fish's beauty and strength. He battles sharks that attack the marlin tied to the side of his small boat, leaving only the marlin's skeleton by the time he returns to his village. In the end, Santiago returns exhausted but undefeated, having proven his strength and resilience. He dreams of lions on the beaches, a recurring dream that symbolizes his enduring strength and hope. The story concludes with the anticipation of Santiago and Manolo's future fishing expeditions, highlighting the themes of perseverance, friendship, and the eternal struggle against the elements. The video captures the essence of Hemingway's novel, portraying the old man's unwavering determination, the beauty and brutality of nature, and the enduring human spirit.

Yes. This movie was horrible. Comparing it to the book It's bizarre they added characters, changed details, added a storyline, etc., etc.to this film. You'd think a classic story by one of the greatest writers in history would have been sufficient to use.
@steveklemz354 Жыл бұрын
@@jvcomedy agreed, the book had a heart wrenching and wore purposeful meaning than the movies could ever portray, you simply can’t beat the details of a good book, you can’t fix something that doesn’t need fixing

I watched it because this novel is a part of my English syllabus. But the story of Santiago is like a dose of motivation I was really in need of because like Santiago I too have a series of failure following me and I am still trying for that very success that will improve the situation of mine. I am deeply sad inside but I smile because I don't want my parents to give up on me. And I know One Day will be my day.

How strange that the TV people would think that a classic, timeless story by one of the greatest writers in history wasn't interesting enough so they so they felt the need to add their own characters, details, additional story line, etc. They even changed the ending. Bizarre.

@@jvcomedy absolute garbage of a movie, it took the charm of the story away, and doesn’t nearly portray how miserable the time on the boat was or even how long it was, lack of details, changed story, leads up with a bad movie
