Hon. Ranil Wickramasinghe is the greatest of the great leaders Sri Lanka has ever had. When other leaders evaded the responsibility of shouldering the socio-economic revival in 2022, this great man, even when his house was set ablaze, stepped in and controlled the situation. He was chided. He was ridiculed. He was belittled. But Mr Wickramasinghe, a visionary leader, knew he was doing the right thing for the country and people. The right thing, unfortunately, the people of this nation could not understand (since most Sri Lankans are parochial and can be easily hoodwinked). Greece took 11 years to recover from its economic quagmire. This man, Wickremasinghe, did the impossible in just two years. We now enjoy the fruits of his actions. He never did anything for his survival. He did the right thing, the right thing he had to do in that context. Did anyone who criticises Hon Wickramasinghe come up with an alternative strategy(s) to revive the economy? NO. They overtly criticise him but covertly follow in his footsteps since they know there is no alternative. Thank you, sir, for your yeoman service to our nation. What else can I say? People of this country will suffer dearly for the injustice they did for you (the law of nature). May the noble triple gems bless you!!!
