Nurse here. The number one thing I tell patients regarding viruses (after fever reducers) is to roll over evey 30-60 minutes if you're to sick to get up. Once you can get up, take a little stroll inside your house as tolerated. Once you can walk outside, get outside. 22:34

I quit smoking! Getting ready for what's coming.. Have stuff from Jase Medical. They are great!! Starting to prep for garden. Ordering raspberry bushes to add to blue berry patch.. need to rotate other 4 raised beds. Have to learn how to can ASAP. Makes me nervous that I'll blow something up. Lol. Grew up on a farm and miss it!! Nothing better than riding the tractor with Dad. Climbing stantion dividers to plug milking machines as I was to little at 9 years old to reach the pipeline.. Milking a whole heard of 80 cows on my own at 8 years old. What a blessing it was!

Maybe think about starting with water bath Canning. There's a lot you can preserve that way and you can get your feet wet with a safer processing system. Once your comfwith water bath Canning pressure Canning isn't quite as scary. Good luck!

May I suggest The Ball Blue Book of Canning? That's the best canning book that has everything you need to know. You won't blow anything up unless you totally disregard the basic rules. There is to many safety devices on them now. It's not like it was when you were a kid! It's a great skill to have!

Lol, we had 2 bull calf's we grass feed for beef,, long story short, my husband use to play with them and they loved it, but they wanted to continue to rough play when they got big, lol. I think hubby learned a lesson about playing with them too much! He probably really didn't learn, lol. We loved having them and they had a great life with us, even though they were raised for a reason, but they had a much better life than a big factory farm!

Milking four of our girls right now. More coming fresh in a couple of months. Sometimes it gets so mundane and old but boy the milk is the sweetest and best! We drink it fresh, make Chèvre, yogurt, Kiefer, can it, make it into coffee creamer and can that, homemade Carmel’s, and Cajeta. Still have to start making soap and body products. I resisted my kids on it when they were babies because they couldn’t tolerate any other kind of milk. Now my grandkids are drinking it. Nothing better! Love my girls!

You can learn a lot with how previous generations did things. I’m currently reading a book about people who went through the great depression. It’s more their stories of what they did in their families. I’m not too far into it, but it’s been very interesting so far. The grit and determination is awesome. It’s called, “We had everything but money “. It really shows how people can have a pleasant life without all the trappings of consumerism. I’m always intrigued by books like this and I’ve learned so much through them.
